Trying say a person died b/c they had other issues is crap too. If a person has AIDS and dies from an infection you don't say oh well the AIDS wasn't what led to the death. That's just not how it works.

You realize that COVID=an infection in your comparison which destroys your own argument

No, it does not. The infection was deadly b/c of the AIDS. Just like these other people's underlying issues suddenly become deadly because of COVID.

Most of them would not have died without catching COVID just like a person would not die of a simple cold if they didn't have AIDS.

Doctors around the world aren't just making this up. It's not some grand conspiracy for every single country to purposely wreck their economies.

And COVID is deadly because of underlying health issues. Once again in your dumb arse comparison infection=COVID and AIDS=underlying health issues

So the coronabros get to make things up they can't prove to make their point years before we know the real toll? 200k is immaterial when the population is as unhealthy as we are. You want to take a stab at how many people didn't die from heart disease or cancer this year because of Covid? TIA our moral and intellectual better

No, the underlying conditions become deadly b/c of the COVID. They would be fine if not for the COVID. I'm not sure why this is so difficult to accept.

Again, 200k more people have died this year than last year. It's not b/c all the sudden American became so much more unhealthy that 200k more died. It's b/c they caught COVID and that fricked their systems to hell.

The AIDS patients would have been fine if not for the infection. Your comparison is ridiculously flawed

Ya, I understand the death rate is up for 2020. What is your point?

Or the number is actually less due to there not being any other reported illnesses aside from COVID this year

We are trending higher for total deaths YTD from the past several years, however that is not deep enough analysis to say it's entirely driven by Covid. Aggregated numbers don't mean anything. There will be plenty of factors to the increase outside of Covid and the net increase will include plenty of causes that have decreased like accidents.

The real question with Covid is what will the effects on future deaths be and how many of those are driven by shutdowns and unemployment vs. the actual virus. Of course, by the time we get those results nobody will care and will have moved on to the next fake outrage.

Why do you find hundreds of thousands of dead Americans funny? That's really weird.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans die every year. Let’s never leave our homes again.

There have been a lot more than 6.9 million cases. Probably somewhere around 50-60 million. So 200k out of 50-60 million have died with about half of the 100k involving people who would have died this year anyways. Truly a devastating disease.

Care to point out the rates of previous years? Or how about our population is always increasing, thus we will always have more deaths than the previous year.

Not to mention the CDC is being controlled/manipulated/quieted by the Trump regime. You aren't getting the straight facts from them

We should bring back shutdowns. It’s the only way to be sure.
