It’s Russia. Their laws, she broke them. I don’t know what else to say. If you are too obtuse to see the irony of her situation as far as her previous words and actions, that’s on you.
Maybe she will get lucky and get out of it and have a new appreciation for what she had. I doubt it though.

It's their law. Whether we think it is ridiculous or not is completely irrelevant. Griner is learning the hard way that not every country is going to bend the knee to her just because she's black and likes to eat snatch.

So you obviously know how much she had on her then? And what Russia's oil to powder legal amount is? Because under 6 grams of powder doesn't even have a prison sentence. But that's irrelevant. Is it ironic? Sure. That has nothing to do with whether or not I think she is being appropriately punished. If it comes out and she had a large amount and that amount equates a long prison sentence, then whatever, keep her locked up. I don't care about this braud.
But I have an opinion, and I think it's more likely than not she didn't have enough to get this long of a sentence is being held longer than an average Russian would be.
I don't think it's crazy to think that Russia is not keeping a correct legal standard. My dad lived in Russia 3 months out of the year for around 15 years and the main thing he complained about was the cold and the police. He basically said that the majority of the cops were corrupt and they all took bribes. So no, I'm not a big believer in the fairness of the Russian legal system.

1. Trump would have probably been able to get her out.
2. Russia will make a big deal out of this, give her a harsh sentence and then start trying to arrange a prisoner swap where we get this gal back and Russia gets a high level spy in return.

It went to a foreign frigging country and committed an act defined as a crime by their laws. When you break the law in a foreign sovereign nation you will find yourself subject to their laws and penalties and it doesn’t matter a shite what any of us on here think. Not a difficult concept, really.
If you do not wish to be subject to another country’s criminal justice system, do not go over there and break their damn laws. It really could not be simpler.
