Cignetti, like literally every other NCAA D1 football coach, is an a-hole.

All of them are.

ETA: Like others have said, doing what he did, at Indiana of all places, give him lead to be as big of a prick as he wants to be.

None of this is true. He’s sure fooled you. This dude LOVES the camera and desperately wants to be cute and win the public’s approval.

Yeah I'm tired of this.

He took over a very good James Madison program, got a bunch of them to transfer to Indiana (multiple of which were more than 5th year players, only one of which wasn't at least a senior) and used Marc Cuban's money to fill in holes.

He's a good coach, but he didn't organically build a low level program into a power. He brought in a bunch of really old players that won't exist in CFB moving forward and then used a billionaire to buy the rest of the roster.

He's also only had to play 3 ranked regular season opponents in two years, one of which being a 4 loss Illinois team. It makes life a lot easier as a head coach when you can coast through the regular season and then turn it on with 24 year olds in the post season.

ETA: I mean Mike Katic, a decent interior lineman who topped out as a 3rd team all big 10 member in his 5th season, was paid $300k to come back for that 5th year.

This is the true American way, people pull for the under dog, they win and then it’s hate time to knock them off the mountain.

I appreciate how when NIL first started everyone pearl clutched over how it was going to ruin competition and that only traditional powers would win

And then that didnt happen and now Indiana winning doesn't count because of the portal and NIL

No. You’ve just convinced yourself that he’s something different. You’re not going to change anyone’s mind with this terrible take.

This is the problem with social media.

Do you know the definition of fact and/or opinion? I can post it if need be.

I didn't say it didn't count.

I think it's misleading to use the "he did it at indiana!" thing when Indiana has very wealthy alumni who can bank roll a roster and completely eliminate the "Indiana" factor.

If a perennial loser like the Browns came under new ownership that had unlimited money and no salary cap, they could also easily do things that have never been done before.
