Dude has a 1.96 and 1.97 ERA in his first two seasons, ROY and a Cy Young. The facts shows he does very little wrong not LSU fan bias.

Again, it has nothing to do with strategy or where he stood. His reaction was awful. A halfway decent fielder makes that play. His step forward wasn’t poor. His positioning was poor. It’s that he froze. That split second cost him.
Also, I’ll be curious to see that data. After watching the clip, it does appear to be in the air a bit longer than I saw at first glance.
Either way, you’re overthinking it. Strategy is one thing, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t misplay it.

Dude doesn’t get it. Skenes obviously didn’t have his swing and miss stuff anyway, but I guess fans and announcers that have watched thousands of games are just wrong, and some analytics prove it or something

It's literally how the guy is coached to play it in that situation/scenario, the exit velo is the reason he looked so dumb. A ball on that trajectory should typically travel 275-300 feet, instead that went ~375. And there's no way for a CF to recognize/adjust until it's over 2B
