Back when Nickelodeon executives allowed cartoonists to do whatever they wanted.

I chuckled when Dora popped up and asked if anyone needs a nap to find the end zone.

I was just hoping to find this on paramount +, but just found the game which even with the trick play TD seems very low energy.

At one point those guys actually decided, "Hey, you know that guy who makes the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comic? Yeah, the one with all the blood and violence and senseless killing! Well anyway, we should get that guy to do a kids' show for us." And the crazy part is they were right!

He certainly pushed the boundaries and had plenty of adult themes in his episodes.

One episode Stimpy was trying to find his fart.

Apparently you're not familiar with South Park.

Everytime someone mentions a past show somebody has to chime in "that could never be made today".

Have you watched cartoons lately. They aren't Davey and Goliath

I'm old enough to remember that all the Bible thumping Christians wouldn't let their kids watch the Simpsons back in the late 80's early 90's. Yet you guys think it's always been the wild west and everyone was cool with every show out there and today you "can never show that today". Give me a break.

No Sweet Victory from the Bikini Bottom Super Band at halftime?

Edit: looks like they did it before the game.

South Park wasn't a show for kids, Rocko's modern life was indeed a show for kids and thus the controversy.

I'm familiar with Nickelodeon cartoons past the year 2000 and they don't come close to the gross factor, adult humor that is Ren and Stimpy or Rocko's modern life.
