Typical Bettman era.

Ignore markets that would live and breathe hockey, like Quebec and Hartford, and expand more in the South to appease niche fanbases..

This is a bad take.

Nashville, Carolina, and Tampa all have no issues drawing fans. It also helps that all 3 are good and well-run teams.

Atlanta's problem last time was bad ownership/and a bad FO. Don Waddell was a fricking terrible GM. They only made the playoffs once.

And lost both games to the Rangers at home. Was at both and still to this day one of the most electric sporting events I’ve been to.. both nights.

I remember when Kovalchuk scored that goal, Phillips went absolutely crazy.

And they ended up getting swept

The Thrashers WERE the 3rd time. Atlanta Knights were successful but moved to Quebec between the Flames and Thrashers.

yeesh. Not sure why they think the 4th time will be any different

The Knights were a minor league team so they don't count.

This will be the 3rd go around.

You're right. Who was the hockey team that played at Gwinnett Arena? That's who I got them mixed up with.

Talking about tearing down North Point Mall in Alpharetta

I literally just heard about expansion on the mall so not sure about this, makes way more sense to build by the mall

The Gladiators still play there. I think.

I’ve heard of it’ll be off exit 9 by North Point but there’s been talk about building an arena off exit 14 in Cumming as well

'd hate to see Edmonton lose its team, but if they moved to Houston, the melt from the Adams clan would be awesome.

They're not going to move one of the 12 teams that makes the NHL it's money to Houston

So Hwy.20.

There is some open real estate there but that is pushing being too far out.

Those tiny markets don't appeal to the league anymore. Regardless of fan interest.
