He should get a significant suspension for that - basically an open ice tackle

He only got a minor for that?

Jesus.

Tom Wilson thought that was dirty.

Big news from Krakenland this afternoon - Philipp Grubauer has been waived.

The Grubauer contract has been a huge albatross for the Kraken: $6 million per year for the statistically-worst goalie in the league.

The Kraken are done for the year, so this won’t help them immediately. But it will for sure help them longterm.

Ingram gives up a weak goal. And the Penguins have tied Utah on TNT.

That was a nifty Crosby backhander for the win.

That hate aimed at Stone is laughable. Stone has no history of dirty play. Even Stars coach Pete DeBoer (who coached Stone while with the VGK) confirmed this. Of course, we’re talking about the team whose own captain tried a cross check to Stone’s throat while Stone was on the ice. As I recall, that didn’t go well for them.

As as Canes fan that watched him from day one, I think he will thrive out there. That entry he had on his goal was fast

NHL in a good spot today with not much sports competition. Planning on watching games from noon until midnight. ABC lineup today are some big market teams. Wish the third game of the day, the night game, was on ESPN for more exposure.

I just hate how Chicago is on TV so much

I know Bedard whatever but they are so bad. It sucks wasting minimal national TV slots on that terrible team.

I'm a Hawks fan and I agree. But casual fans don't know how bad Chicago is right now, so they'll tune in based on name recognition. Plus at least Bedard can be showcased.

I think the biggest instant impact is Necas making the PP lethal again. Teams don’t know what to do with the speed and lack of tape.

Moose and MacK obviously were side-to-side one time threats, but clearly it got stale and relied mostly on Cale.

Less than one week until Finland and USA go head-to-head at the 4 Nations Face-Off on February 12 in Montreal.

What a game between Oilers and Avs

If the playoffs started today that would be the first round matchup
May not end up that way but we’ll see - even with the Avs inconsistency I still see them overtaking Minnesota for 3rd in the central. Can’t see them passing Dallas or Winnipeg.

Honestly would prefer the Avs chances against the Oilers over Jets or Stars.
