NFL wants some attention so they have proposed 18 game season with 16 game player limits

So reduce the preseason to 0 games?

So, the Pats first team will sit out week 5 and 11 and only 2nd team will play? such a dumb idea. Coaches would have to make some tough decisions as who to sit and when

Worse idea, this or the rays being shared by two cities l?

That would make for interesting strategic decisions. Do you o all out and try to clinch early so you rest your starters in week 17 or 18? Sit your best players against a bad opponent and hope the backups win? Use the best players' bye weeks against nonconference opponents because it won't affect tiebreakers?

Dumb idea for the owners though. Mathematically you would have to expand the rosters for it to work.

Not really. Everyone would wait for the end of the season since many/most players are going to get injured at some point anyway.
