Charles Woodson's was pretty good last night. I get it, he wants free expression and all. But they even admitted they lost sight of the original intent. The Kohlber(sp?) saying well a Green Beret told Kaep to kneel was okay. The fight is over, the message is lost, find a new battle.

A great way to cheapen patriotism is to make it compulsory

So is the NBA cheaper in patriotism than the NFL or MLB?
Not right place to use that argument IMO.

This whole thing was almost a memory until Trump tweeted about it. It would probably start to fade away again if they just ignore it.
Culture wars are the only thing Republicans have. They can't run on facts or accomplishments. I mean, they control all 3 branches of government, and they can't get anything done. Pathetic.

Trump doesn't want this conversation to end. Mainly because it takes away from the culture war he so desperately wants at the moment.

People think the arm lock was in protest of something patriotic which was stupid. I just do not see how the arm lock was considered disrespectful? It was a statement toward Trump for calling them Sons of bitches and the media and average morons made it into patriotism.
What Trump said is right stand for the flag, but he went too far in calling for them to be fired.

Which imo means that this has nothing to do with the flag or the anthem.

Because they thought they were going to kneel for the anthem with the way everything had gone that weekend.
The Cowboys basically handled it the perfect way, show your protest, do it as a group, and then honor the country.
The Steelers had it handled until Villanueva threw his team under the bus. I had no issue with teams staying in either.

I said last year they should have nipped this in the bud by using the "personal conduct policy" against Kapernick. Now theyve successfully gotten both sides pissed at them by blackballing kapernick and still having people kneeling. Goodell is a dumbass

Really?? You know damn well what the NBA rule is.

Also, being called "America's team" and not standing for the anthem is pretty bad optics for the cowboys.

not exactly sure what you're laughing at
The fact being "forced to do things at work" bothers you is hilarious. Hence why I am laughing at you

I appreciate their right to do it as it's their league, but I'm never a fan of forcing anyone to do anything.
Like wear a tie at work?
If you get paid to go to work, you go to work and you do it under the conditions your bosses set.
Everybody has to live by this agreement - as long as what your boss is doing isn't illegal or the government isn't forcing you to do anything. NFL isn't the government...it's a private business. I think the whole anthem bit should be scrapped at most sporting events and reserved for special occassions but if they are going to keep doing it all the time - it's not wrong for the owners to make a rule that doesn't distract from the game.

Just when this issue was starting to subside, both sides start fanning the flames. Thanks idiots for hijacking the game.
I'm patriotic as hell, but I'm glad I'm not patriotic enough to be triggered over football players.
