The Chiefs were so lucky he turned down their offer and they only had to deal with him one more year on the franchise tag.

He's not that good and declined last year.

The Chiefs were ready to move on from him with his high salary demands. That's why they didn't use the franchise tag on him again and immediately went to free agency to shore up their OL.

He seems like a great run blocker, good bull rush pass blocker, meh against speed/bend guys.

He basically got RT money which is where he should play, he lacks the athleticism to play LT, and yes, I know about his pro bowls.

Unless you're initially picked for pro bowls, it's meaningless when a guy like Huntley is considered a pro bowl player.

Excuse me what the frick?

If almost half the money is paid via signing bonus, and it's "front-loaded", then what's his base/roster combination worth this year? $25M?

I don't have an answer for you but I would recommend trying to find the third hour of today's D.A. Show on CBS Sports Radio's website when they post it. He had on a salary cap expert that has worked with the Vikings in the past and he explained how a lot of this stuff actually works.

One of the things that stuck out was they were discussing Russell Wilson's contract and there is really no way out for Denver for the next three years. If they were to cut Wilson after this (2023) year it would be a 107 million hit on their salary cap. If they were to cut him after next year it would be an 85 million hit on their salary cap and even if they cut him after 2025 they would still have to eat 49 million in dead money towards their salary cap.

Bears are signing former Packers’ TE Robert Tonyan to a one-year deal, per source.

Looks like GB has to draft a TE now. They only have 2 on the roster

Update: The #Broncos price tag for Jerry Jeudy is a 1st round pick or a high 2nd round pick+Player, per @AllbrightNFL

Multiple NFL teams have called Denver about Jeudy, including the #Cowboys, #Patriots and #Browns

They'll get a 2nd and late round pick.

He's 3 years in, 2 years left before you pay for a solid #2 low end #1 WR. Nobody is gonna give up a 1

Agreed. That is why he hasn't been traded yet.

Teams will now wait for denver to lower their price.

What the hell? I know today is St. Patrick's Day but is it also National Decide What You Are Going to Do at Punter Day as well? Seems like half the teams in the league are signing or trying to trade for punters today.

After the first wave, a lot of time the positions will clutter like that a lot. Saw it with the WRs in day 2. Usually there’s 1 guy who’s either clearly above everyone or there’s a bunch of similarly valued guys and it’s a bit of a game of chicken to see who the first one is going to blink. Typically happens when the players going into FA thinking they will get offers a lot higher than they end up seeing early on

Foster Moreau visited Cincy yesterday. Wouldn’t mind signing him and then drafting a TE in the draft.
