And not Ohio State or Clemson. It’s very difficult to imagine any team outside of the SEC besides Ohio State or Clemson winning the National Championship any time in the near future. Who would be the most likely? I guess the obvious answer would be Oklahoma based off of them actually making the playoffs multiple times already, but the last two times they have looked so outmatched it’s hard to envision them winning it.

They play Ohio State at the Horseshoe week 2. That should be a good one...if it happens.

Oregon is the only one outside of that group that has made it to a title game in the playoff era.

OU has been the most successful not named Clemson and Ohio St

Just look at the path

They will be favored in every game for the foreseeable future in the Big 12

They have to get up for Texas and maybe another ranked opponent and that’s it

They continue to have top 5-10 classes so it’s a matter of time before luck goes their way

USC, when they finally commit to winning at football again, and hire a top coach.

A step further:

The first title game was OSU vs UO.

Since then it has been Bama 4x, Clemson 4x, UGA, and LSU.

If Oklahoma could ever manage to find a passable defense they'd have a shot.
