Didn't expect Tillman to be the better ownership than the Mavs

And fans will still fill it up. Professional sports need to die. Outrageous contract for players all while they expect the public to pay outrageous tickets prices and parking but that’s not enough let’s make citizens pay for the arenas.
American professional sports really need the European model where fans have partial ownership and a seat at the table for decisions on ticket prices and a new stadium. It's why Premier League tickets cost so little compared to US sporting tickets. Liverpool sells their cheapest seats for $9...

Again I ask, how could these owners be stupid enough to think Texas would legalize gambling? Who did they get their advice from? Still hard to believe Cuban sold the team.
A strong commissioner, like David Stern, would tell these new owners to kick rocks and make them sell the team. Silver might let them move to China.

Texas will legalize gambling at some point. They had a bill to do so last year

Adult upper level. Junior tickets are a flat $9 anywhere in the stadium. Adult ranges from $61 down to $9 depending on seat location.

I agree with the take about the fan ownership model but the tickets work the exact same over there as they do here. The initial prices set by the club are reasonable but the only way one can buy a ticket without being a season ticket holder or knowing soneone is through the secondary market where it's upsold.

this will be interesting to watch itself play out. I don't think Vegas is happening for the Adelsons. When the NBA goes there it makes more sense to expand to 32 and give Seattle the other franchise. Even if the Vegas franchise was someone relocating, no chance the owners would want to sacrifice something as valuable as the DFW market.
Feel like they're either gonna get everything they want--including sports gambling and the adjacent casino--or this will be one of the super rare instances of a city council telling a sports team to go frick themselves. All things considered, if they hadn't just blown their long term prospects up in historically embarrassing fashion they'd probably be better off at negotiating this.

Patrick takes an even harder line against it. He controls the agenda and is likely in office until 2031

Mavs tickets in the 100 section at about the 3 point line 20ish rows up are like $175 per face value. It’s ridiculous in all pro sports but the NBA is the worst. 90% of people can only afford to take their family to a game or two a year and you don’t even know if any of the players are going to play

ETA:

Liquor store (also known as package store):
Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Closed on Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
If Christmas Day or New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, closed the following Monday.

It's a pretty conservative state.

You're not wrong that its unlikely...but the same bill that allowed grocery stores to sell wine and made it legal for liquor stores to be open on Sunday's in Oklahoma was also the bill that had the most expansive and least restrictive medical marijuana package in the entire country..sometimes things get corrected all in one fell swoop.

But then DFW has plenty of cities and counties in that area that could make a deal

Yep. Guess we will just have to focus on the Cowboys and Rangers here in Dallas. With Luka gone, many fans publicly proclaimed they don’t support the team anymore.

Mark Cuban is trying to build a mini Vegas style resort in Texas. It's going to happen.

They are welcome to build one.
