So it’s fair to say she could also finish DFL in that one tournament scenario right?

The only way this discussion makes any sense is to extend it over a season on what her potential is or isn’t

Sure

I do think that’s relatively unlikely based on her consistency of being a professional against the volatility of the college game. But it’s not 0%

That’s quite literally the opposite of the original discussion and you aren’t right about that either

I think that is far more likely representation of what she potentially “could do”

I mean, she averages 68.2 shots per round on courses that average around 6500-6600 yards. I don’t think backing that up 500 yards, on potentially easier pin locations, means she is going to average 5+ shots higher. I think averaging 3 shots more than that is entirely reasonable.

Agreed. I see her scores range from like 68 to 76 over a season with a ton of 71s, 72s, and 73s.

It’d be near impossible for her to shoot a really low number, but the setups are just not going to yield a really high score

And that possibility would have her 8th on the LSU team alone

I can say yes, I think Nelly could be 8th on the lsu team

Do you not think the 8th guy on LSU’s team would easily start at Mizzou or Kentucky?

Sure, i said it’s possible she could play for the worst sec team i suppose

But that is quite a far step back from all sec where we started

And side note to something you were setting up earlier, Also I think scoring in general maybe a little more difficult on a college setup than a pga your setup due to green conditions. Would like to hear your thoughts on that Dawg

Here is where I started:

Truth is she would struggle to make any team and I’d bet heavily against her ever being a starter

I would still bet against her being a starter in the sec. That would be my bet. But I concede that at least is possible

I don’t think there is a snowballs chance in hell of her being top 15-25 in the sec

Mathew Cress averaged 71.4 strokes for the season and made second team all sec and you’ve already agreed she’s average somewhere around 3 strokes worse than her 68.2 strokes on the LPGA

No I haven’t agreed she would shoot 3 strokes anything

I just pointed out , which dawg said, even that would have her outside the starting lineup for lsu alone

Jackson Koivun already is averaging better on the PGA tour in scoring than he did in college and that’s including a US open

Even my arch nemesis Bryson says scoring on a tour course is easier than your random course due to the greens

Which has exactly zero to due with greens conditions

PGA Tour greens are generally pretty flat and are in such good shape that it’s really hard to miss putts if you have a good stroke on the ball.

At least, at this part of the Tour.

Poa is different but those are mostly west coast tourneys.

Hardest green in the world to make a birdie putt on is a 9.5 on the stimp Bermuda green in south Louisiana

3 putt avoidance is easy but actually making a putt of any distance is extremely hard

Annika Sorenstam, Michelle Wie, and Lexi Thompson all played in pga tour events where they beat dozens of established male tour pros. None of them made a cut but they all had finishes inside the top 100.

SEC golfers are good but they aren’t even close to tour pro level as far as consistency.

It depends on course set up and if Nelly is playing well but she could easily finish middle of the pack or even top third. As someone else said the ceiling of the college guys may be way higher but the consistency of most of them (outside of your Koivun types) is way worse. A relatively short but tight punitive set up would favor her. For example I think she could do quite well relatively at a harbor town esque course.

A woman golfer has never made a single cut at a pga tour event

How many SEC players every single year graduate and end up being at least able to compete on tour? This question is absurd

it's amazing that here in 2026, even in a non-contact sport like golf, people STILL underestimate the grand canyon sized chasm between men and women athletic abilities.

No woman is competing with semi-decent men in any actual sport.
