I don't know what she could do for a season, none of us do. The guy said the SEC championship right? I think for one tournament there's a chance Nelly could be mid pack.

There were 86 players in the Men's SEC championship and mid pack, T41 shot even. It played 7K yards. I think it's not crazy to say that the best woman's golfer in the world could shoot even over three days on a 7K course.

It's hard to conceptualize a bit but the very, very best women's player in the world is just at a completely different level of consistency, shot-shaping, touch, etc. than virtually all male college players, freaks like Koivun excepted (who, by the way, was the #1 ranked Datagolf amateur in the history of their rankings, better than Rahm, better than Spieth, better than Scottie, better than all of them). This isn't basketball or soccer or tennis where physicality, speed, quickness, strength, etc. are 90+% of the equation.

Nelly is also a bit of a special case, as she has the reservoir to muscle it out there within reasonable distance of a lot of these guys; she has an extra gear that is throttled down in LPGA set ups because that's what those courses demand. It's no accident that she separates the longer and harder courses get.

Also, she plays at Concession and in Jupiter with male Tour guys all the time and is regularly playing at 7,000+.

The difference between something like golf and darts is so different than anything that requires real physicality, where obviously women can’t compete.

They 100% can compete short term in golf with a lot of players on a random day. May only happen 3% of the time, but way more often than a physical sport where it happens 0% of the time.

Darts, which you brought up, is magnitudes less physical than golf. Even so, it was not until 2021 until a female ever won a match against a male

Sure, the less physical you get the “closer” women are, but they are still far far apart even in freaking darts

I’m not saying you’d have a woman in the top 100 of the world like you do in darts. I’m just saying it’s way way closer to darts than it is something like tennis, basketball, or soccer.

Michelle Wie missed a PGA tour cut by 1 at 14 years of age. Annika and Lexi (who stunk that year) both have beaten bona fide pros in tournaments (albeit missing the cut). There is also so much mental that goes into golf that I don’t think it’s as simple as men hit the ball 50 yards further. Do you leave the ball in the right place? What is your mentality when you get to -5 on your round? Different small stuff that adds up.

I’ve also seen good women’s high school/college players beat men who play at lower level colleges at tournaments before. So yes, I do believe that Nelly Korda, who is way better than those girls could hang at most D1 golf programs.
