thats so not true

Exactly.

FCS playoffs are barely advertised...you wake up one morning and oh, FCS championship game is on in the snow in some remote location.

Even the lowly of FBS get tons more pub.

That's why every school had this big push to leap to FBS in the 90's.

They all wanted to be the next Boise State...which went from JC - to prime-time Brent Musburger money-maker.

FCS is still like Ivy Football. It's so below the radar...

Like college baseball vs. MLB...you have to be a real die-hard fan of your school to follow the first...just like FCS...you are just a casual fan of the sport to follow the later...just like FBS.

They got more exposure in their Charleston Southern game on ESPN than schools like UTSA, Texas State, Idaho, UMass, Old Dominion and ULM will get all year. And we're not even talking about today and their postseason.

Sure, though if you go to the MWC board all their fan bases scoff at the idea.

NDSU was 2 before the move to the Valley.

I'm just responding that Troy didn't move up from 2 to 1-A or FBS in one move.

USF UCF FIU FAU were also FCS with in last 20 years

NDSU is in the Missouri Valley Football Conference which doesn't even have an over the air TV deal. If you want to watch one of their games you have to have ESPN3.

The two conferences they'd be most likely to end up in are the MAC and MWC both of which have deals that get games on actual ESPN channels often on their own nights.

I'm sorry but the barely talked about FCS playoffs are not getting them more coverage than they'd get in the MAC or MWC and counting a game like today's is silly b/c there would be nothing stopping them from still going to P5 schools for pay day games.

I've seen NDST play on television an average of twice a year for a few years now.

I don't think I've ever seen Old Dominion or UTSA play a football game. EVER. If they wouldn't have played LSU, I'd probably say the same about Idaho and New Mexico State.

Lest anyone overlook the fact that NDSU has hosted ESPN's College Gameday (once for sure, maybe twice now...?). That's more exposure than any FCS before them. Hell, Mt. Union has won however many championships & such a small percentage of the college football fanbase knows they even exist.

I've argued for years (not on here) that ULL/USL should've dropped to FCS (in football) years ago & simply dominated that level for the rest of time.
LA people LOVE to support a winner. Cajun Field would have experienced excellent attendance as well as alumni support.
The sheer number of FCS caliber athletes staying in-state would be phenomenal (respectively speaking) & the local/regional coverage would be far more consistent not to mention POSITIVE for the Cajuns. Hell, they'd even be able to walk over to Texas, Mississippi, & Alabama to attract countless recruits to campus.
The trophies would fill the cases & they'd still know their place vs. LSU.
MAYBE the games between the 2 schools would be more entertaining...?

Basically McNeese in a nutshell, minus the domination of the FCS. Not as easy as you might think, otherwise, there would be more runs like NDSU has had.

Frisco, Texas isn't exactly remote.

Oh really? How much Pub do Texas State and Idaho get?

Boise didn't hit it big until 2007 with the Fiesta Bowl win, so what are you talking about?

Since the Ivy League is in the FCS, technically you are right.

I agree with this 100%. No one bandwagons an FCS team. We are diehards in that regard. Takes a lot to support a school with less pub than Idaho or Ball State.
