"Why did the Committee jump Alabama over Notre Dame after an unconvincing win over (pitiful) Auburn? I don't understand that at all...but moving Notre Dame to the 10 line, has massive consequences." - Joel Klatt

Committee pulled this junk last year and the year before. They realize they might be stuck with a team and so reshuffle the deck and rankings when nobodies looking before the final weekend.. Miami and,Texas don't play anymore, plus they wanted a cushion for Bama.

Nothing is objective about only the results on the field. Suddenly Notre Dame is worse than Bama because they beat Auburn by 7?

Has nothing to do with what happened/happens on the field. This musical chairs of flip-flopping the placement of teams,at the last minute because you pigeon-holed yourself needs to be banned. Teams can't willy-nilly drop in the ranking if A) they didn't play or B) Won in convincing dominating fashion (like,Notre Dame)...there needs to be a rule...otherwise the rankings are a LIE all year until the Final weekend where the Committee just reshuffles the deck.

The people who “know ball” the most - Vegas oddsmakers - have ND as the 3rd or 4th best team overall.

So yeah, I tend to think they should be in regardless of what the numbnuts on this message board think.

My man, I was replying to the guy who said USC lost last weekend and is "barely top 25."

ND should 10000% be in the playoffs, and only people with ND Derangement Syndrome think otherwise.

Miami beat 5-7 FSU by 6.

BYU beat 3-9 Colorado by 3.

Alabama beat 5-7 Auburn by 7 and 2-10 Arkansas by 9 (a team ND beat by 43).

Oklahoma beat 5-7 Auburn by 7 as well on top of 3 other 1 score wins, granted against teams with winning records.

The only game ND "struggled" in the last 10 weeks was against BC, and it was a 15 point win that was never as close as the score looked.

Vandy and their geriatric QB is a fun little story, but they are not a better team than ND, and it's not particularly close.

They are behind ND in every computer model. They only are ahead of ND in SOR (by 2 spots) and SOS.

Your college football takes are about as hot as your pro golf takes.

What’s Vandy’s best win?

Frankly, we're better right now than all but 2 - 3 teams in America and would beat the frick out of most of the teams on your list. We'd be a favorite against every single SEC team right now on a neutral field except potentially Georgia.

What conference championship game is Notre Dame playing in this weekend?

And why is Alabama even playing in a conference championship game. Yeah, they beat Georgia head to head, but that don’t matter, they got Molly-whomped by the 13th best team in the ACC. Shouldn’t another 7-1 SEC team be in there? Is that how this works?

Notre Dame can fix every issue they have by aligning to and playing a P4 conference week in and out.

If Rutgers had the exact same schedule as Notre Dame, the same wins and the same losses, are they top 10?

There's not a single win on Notre Dames schedule that says they should have an opportunity to compete for a championship, or grounding them as "one of the best 12 teams in the country"

If it wasn't "Notre Dame" we wouldn't be talking about them

Some posters said the same thing last year. And then they whipped Georgia along both lines and won easily.

So a 3rd loss in the seccg shouldn't push you out of a 4 team playoff, but it should a 12 team field?

Either the CCG should count or it shouldn't. The number of teams involved really is irrelevant. Further, Auburn's resume that year was significantly ahead of Bama's this year.

ND played 2 non-P4 teams this year. One was in the playoffs last season and one is currently in the AP top 25. They scheduled 0 FCS teams. Tell the ACC to stop sucking arse, ND doesn’t control what shite teams the ACC gives them to play yearly.

FSU was a shite 5 - 7 team that finished 13th in the ACC
Vandy didn't beat a single top 25 team
Vols didn;t finish in the top 25 - about equivalent to Navy for ND
South Carolina was a dogshit team and it's hilarious you're trying to include them
Oklahoma is the worst at large team in the playoffs and this shite wouldn't matter if you all hadn't pissed all over yourselves turning the ball over three times and missing a chip shot field goal
Auburn fricking sucks, so not sure why you're including them
