NC State basketball update: Gottfried officially fired. Will finish season as HC

Reports that preliminary feelers have been put out towards NC State alum Archie Miller, head coach at Dayton.

I'm sure youve all noticed how quiet Ive been regarding the team this season. We are almost as bad as LSU. The team had a tremendous amount of hype and is a complete dumpster fire. 50 point loss to UNC, 30 point loss to wake, things have gotten ugly. The players seem to have turned on each other and lots of rumors of players transferring if Gott remains head coach.

Here is a video of one NC state player informing the ref that his teammate stepped out of bounds so that he didnt have to run back up the court.
Going to be a very interesting off season for me with my pels, tigers, and wolfpack all a mess

Johnny Jones sucks but it's bullshite that he was raked over the coals nationally last season(with a better team) and Gottfried and Romar are shitting on themselves relatively anonymously this year.

That GIF of the player ratting his own teamate out is amazing. I've never seen anything like it. He wasnt going back down the court and gave zero fricks about it.

I was just thinking today that Gottfried probably had a pretty short lease. Would love to see LSU hire someone competent and possibly bring in MG as an assistant.
As a HC he wouldn't be on my list, but he could be a valuable assistant in SEC country

He's been more successful than people realize. His record is much better than any coach since Jimmy V.
But it feels like time to move on. If they get Archie it's a no brainer. If not they'll probably end up in the same cycle.

He had a couple of solid recruiting classes, but was never able to contend against teams with equal talent.

Gottfried has pretty much mirrored his time at Alabama. Get things rolling have some good years then fall off.
He should do what he did then and take a couple years off and he should be ready to take another upper mid tier major conference job and repeat the cycle

Yea but that doesnt really make him successful. Those coaches were mostly terrible.
His ACC record is 47-54. Im not expecting Duke or Carolina results but NC State should easily be a team that is consistently above .500 in ACC play
Our program should at be at least on par with ones like Miami and Florida state. We have the resources, the facilities and the fanbase
