The Eagles also had the ball around midfield, down 1 point, with 4 minutes left and he said the Eagles need to start worrying about the clock.

I think he said "we need to start watching the clock" meaning watch it for both teams because there weren't going to be many possessions left.

That is what I kept saying why is this even a discussion? He crossed the plane with the ball. Have the pros changed what a touchdown is now?

No, just what a catch is. Which is utterly fricking stupid as hell. That's something they're supposed to fix in the off-season.

the Jesse James one (he was actually there for that one), but still it was pretty bad.

He wasn't there. CC works for NBC on the sunday night broadcast. That Steelers - Pats game was sunday afternoon on CBS.

Westwood One is the Bomb. They remind me of how games are supposed to be called.

I first listened to Harlan do Chiefs games right after they traded for Montana. People bang on FOX, but they were the first network to give him a national job in 1994 paired with Glanville. He has slowly risen through the ranks, and is now one of the best in the business.

My bad. I'll edit. I just remembered that game being on really late.

He has regressed as a color terribly. He doesn't even tried to hide his biases. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't at this very moment in the locker room giving sympathy blow jobs to Tom and Bill.

I sure hope so. Once the ball breaks the plain of the goal line and the player has control at that point, that used to be a TD. Hopefully, it will be once again next season.

I grew up mostly without cable in my youth, so I relied on Westwood One’s radio coverage for a long time. I have listened to a ton of games when I was working or traveling with no TV access. It made long boring work or travel so much more enjoyable. They have never disappointed. Thank you Westwood One.

Collinsworth is an outstanding color guy. He just blew this call and blew it badly. He'll look back and realize that was a clear TD

I hope he gets shite on the internet.

It doesn't help the game of football when you are adament about nonsense.

What's bad about the call is thus...there's no call.

It's just a goddamn Touchdown. The fact that he made it an issue is beyond suspect. And annoying and wasted our time and confused foreigners in the biggest game of the year that is shown globablly.

I think what is so offensive to Collinsworth is he was acting like nobody else knows football - remotely and if we know it - it's from NFL clips, so we're idiots.

That's what's insulting that he thought his bullshite would sell.

And that he was a former Pro player and would turn into such a sell-out - is really more offensive to the fan.

I remember back in like 1980, I think it was NBC that broadcast a preseason game with no announcers. They would show the down and distance on the screen, and the refs could be heard calling penalties and such, but other than that it was just game noise. I think they did it to prove a point because even back then, fans were complaining about the lame announcers and the stupid stuff they were saying during games.

He never considered that he could have had possession and was a runner. He kept talking about the review long after it was confirmed then said the hypothetical, (paraphrasing) “If the defender wasn’t there, would he have stayed on his feet or had to dive?” No defender and he walks in. Or he takes 2 steps and dives in and it’s the same play. Not sure his angle but he sure didn’t want that to be a TD.

He never caught the ball

He only snagged it out of the air with his hands and ran around with the ball and used the hands that had the ball in them to stretch the ball over the goal line

Incomplete

Kevin Harlan is the best there is and I’ve said that for a long time. When Hawthorne retired Kevin Harlan was my dream pick for the job saying LSU should give him a blank check.

What was incomplete about it? He caught it, secured the ball, ran like two yards, and then dove into the endzone.

Dez Bryant agrees with you.

But the officials didn't in his case.

Jesse James agrees with you.

But the officials didn't in his case.

According to the letter of the law, that catch was questionable at best.

I"m glad they are going to look at changing or clarifying the rule in the off season.

Getting to the OP, most of y'all are ignoring the fact that Collinsworth talked incessantly about Doug Pederson. Had tons of good things to say about Foles and Ajayhi.

Collinsworth has never been one to be overly critical to players. He should have been highly critical of the Pats Defense, which was abysmal. They made Foles look like Jalen Hurts against LSU. Donnie Jones punted ONCE.
