Some of you people are blinded by your own hate of the Patriots and Collinsworth.

As an imparial viewer:

They were just reviewing the different possibilities. Comparing it to the Steelers play that was very similar and ruled not a catch just a few weeks ago. And providing a little bit of tv drama.

You people are as obnoxious as the politards with your conspiracies.

You're right but the problem is nobody, including the league or the refs from week to week, seem to fully grasp the rule.

His take on the Ertz TD catch was terrible.

I don't think he wanted it to be a catch. If you saw the Jesse James debacle, you could understand why he felt it was going to get overturned.

I mean, when Tom was stripped at the end of the game, he didn't try to find a way to say his arm was moving forward.

The Eagles also had the ball around midfield, down 1 point, with 4 minutes left and he said the Eagles need to start worrying about the clock.

They did.

In fact, if it wasn’t for a patriots injury timeout and a WR going out of bounds, the Pats would’ve had far less time and 1 less timeout on the drive Brady fumbled.

I disagree. Ertz took three steps after the catch and put the ball in the endzone then it popped out.

Collinsworth went on one of his bizarre hot takes that didn't add up.

Collinsworth was talking about the play clock. The Eagles almost had two consecutive false starts.

It didn’t add up at all. Ertz was already a runner by the time he crossed the goal line. The catch should’ve been a forgone conclusion...

He never caught the ball He only snagged it out of the air with his hands and ran around with the ball and used the hands that had the ball in them to stretch the ball over the goal line Incomplete

So even if this is true, you’re gonna just ignore the fact that the ball bounced up, and was caught without ever hitting the ground??

Which is exactly why it was stupid for CC to jump up on the pedestal like he did

Explain the play
Explain the rules
Let the viewers make their own opinion

As a TV color guy, it’s the safest play

Right, which is why I don't think Collinsworth deserves this much criticism. He was trying to anticipate what the calls would be based on how he's seen the rule applied in the past.

If he's guilty of anything, it was getting hung up on the frame by frame minutiae while analyzing each play, but the league's inconsistent interpretation of the rule lends itself to that happening.

wish they would make an option of being without announcers and the fan can hear the sounds of the game (i.e crowd noise, hits, and the crazy fan banter sans obscenites) as if u were at the game at home. I cannot stand listening to announcers who, in most cases, either talk politics or about summaries of plays that most seasoned fans already know.

Unplug the center speaker on your sound system if you have one, problem solved

I said the same thing when it was going on. After philly converted on that 4th down, did anyone else catch them saying that instead of going for it they should have considered pinning the pats back instead?

Near end of the game when Eagles were up by 8 points, he made the comment that Brady had a lot of time on the clock, and he would drive the 90 yards for a TD, make the 2 point conversion and Patriots would win it in OT...

I was like WTF did he just say Patriots would win in OT? had to rewind it just to be sure.. Based upon how he was pulling for Brady, you would think Collinsworth had money on the game..
