I like to think Jeff Van Gundy made these new rules happen.

seems like more of a PR move to appease fans, these fines won't even deter guys making the league min.

Agree with this. Until the refs actually start handing out Ts for the flopping, it will continue.
Let's say a player on your team fouls out b/c of a BS flop foul and your team eventually loses. Seeing CP3 get a 5k fine the next for flopping isn't gonna take away that L. If you flop then consequences need to happen during the game.

Exactly, lose the game or get .1% of your check taken. Easy choice

incorrect...the big man is actually the benefit here. Shaq must be pissed this didn't happen 10 years ago.

nah, after the sixth infraction, the punishment is up to the league's discretion, and ole Stern hates him some flopping. think of it as six warnings then the real punishments begin.

So is this seasonal or a running career tally? I'm assuming seasonal. It should be a a fluid tally throughout a guys career if they are going to use such bs minuscule fines.

The Union is filing a grievance challenging the rule per ESPN ticker.

Honestly my gripe has never been with the actual flopping. My gripe is with the rewarding of flopping.
Players should be able to flop all they want. They should just look like idiots when the refs don't give them the call.

Literally chump change to a guy like Lebron. He probably spends more than that making it rain in the clubs.
Meh i dont think the montetary value compared to their salary is the point. Its the fact that something done on the court can cost 30,000
If you make OT Baller money every year or whatever I bet its still going to piss you off if someone take 20 dollars out of your wallet.
Now imagine if your boss said he would take 20 dollars away from you everytime you were late to work or something like that. Youll probably start making sure you get to work on time even though that 20 dollars doesnt really mean much to you in the long run but its a stupid reason to lose money

There was actually an article on ESPN the other day about how Lebron could be the most beneficial due to these new rules. Now people cant just flop on him everytime he goes to the post. Shits bout to get real!
