Suprised that Rubio/Rose deal didn't go through the way they were talking about it

Set themselves up to dominate after LeBron?

Lebron has a long time left. He hasn't even made his transition into a PF/post guy yet.

The future is bright for the celtics, make a move or not they gathered a ton of assets to figure it out.

That was his point. They have a ton of assets. Had a chance to cash in on a true superstar and keep their two other best players. Why else sign Horford if they plan to dominate "when Lebron retires"?

I think their plan is still to get one of Butler or George for a lesser price. Ainge won't trade unless it's rape

Yeah Horford is 30 and Thomas is 28. The time is now if they want to win something with those two. I still think they will do something in the summer

the question I ask is, if you're giving up 2 or 3 of: Brown/Crowder/Bradley/Smart and the 2017 pick, do you have a shot at winning vs Cleveland or Toronto this year?

I honestly say no, but maybe they get him for slightly less the offseason and they can make a push then. Or Butler perhaps. They wouldn't gut the team, but damned if you lose the depth too.

Why waste a year when you're set to make a run this year?

I would love to see them get past Cleveland, I just don't think it happens. They have a ton of good role players. That's not enough.

I dunno if they could gel fast enough to win it all this year though they would definitely have a shot. If they don't make a move this summer I don't know what Ainge is doing

Just looking at IT and Horford's ages, they have to make a move this summer.

If not they might as well blow it up and go young again.

Morey calls Beverley the "heart & soul" of team. "Teams maybe falsely thought w/Lou coming in that made Pat more available. That was wrong." as we were sayin'....

explain this trade to me the 76ers & Mavs trade-

The 76ers trade Noel for what will likely be 2 second round picks and player that it will cost them money not to play for them. Why do 76ers make that trade?

Because the savage Hinkie is no longer there

Even Wikipedia states it:
quote:

Samuel Blake Hinkie (born December 1977) is a professional savage, the greatest executive of all time, and the former General Manager and President of Basketball Operations of the Philadelphia 76ers.

There was zero chance they would match whatever Noel got offered as a restricted FA. Also Anderson has struggled but isn't just an empty uniform

Those guys aren't ancient they have more than those two options

I know we are in the era of superteams but you can build a contender through the draft (see OKC and GS before Durant).

They don't need to build it through the draft though. They have a semi-contender now and are one big piece (and a couple role players away based on what they would have to give up). The timing doesn't add up for a 19 year old like Fultz/Ball to step into a major role on that team next year and expect to take that next step in the next couple seasons.

Safe to say Toronto solidified themselves as the Second best team in the East. Would've love to have seen Boston make some type of move. Not even talking about PG/Butler

So I just saw that Colangelo is undoing all the work that Hinkie did in Philadelphia.

Only getting essentially two seconds for Noel? Trading Noel instead of Okafor? Not being able to flip Bogut into at least something after making the deal?

Why in the frick were those bums brought in in the first place? Hinkie's process was just about to start paying off.
