It really wasn't all that deep. Other than that one year they lost to the Grizzlies, they lost because they were young or were going against some insane teams (Heat, Spurs, Warriors). It was just an unfortunate timing.
Presti really needs to get that monkey off his back this year, it won't get easier than the opportunity they have right now. But with that comes a lot of pressure.
People just assume "they're young, they'll have more opportunities" but it almost never works out that way.

Injuries too. The Westbrook injury and LD injury took away two playoff runs. Think Ibaka was hurt a few times too and he always gave the Spurs fits.

An OKC-Indy finals….ooof NBA Rigged [OFF] ON

NBA fans while superteams dominated the league: “this is boring, i’m tired of seeing the same teams make the Finals. we want parity!”

NBA fans while the league achieves parity: “this is boring, nobody wants to watch this. we want superteams to root against!”
OKC-Indy is going to be a great series. As an actual basketball fan i’m looking forward to a matchup of the No. 1 offense vs. the No. 1 defense is

Trade of the year.

So many pundits criticized this trade. Sam knew his window was open and made a move for now vs future.

Bulls got a great player. Thunder got a disrupter to help put finishing touches on team. Win/win

im a non-NBA fan so to your point an OKC-IND final is the only reason im interested in maybe watching some of the finals. Have only watched bits and pieces of a Pels game my FIL had on at Christmas this year

This has been my favorite playoffs ever and I’m not an OKC or Pacers fan, but both are fun to watch.

Grats to the Thunder. You guys did it the right way and benefitted from excellent drafting and one of the worst trades of all time in your favor.

But you gotta win it all. You'll be heavily favored over either team.

December 26: OKC 120-114 at Indy
March 29: OKC 132-111 at home

For those looking ahead to what looks to be the inevitable matchup.

Means little. OKC and Minnesota split the season series and it mattered nothing for this 7 game series.

If Indy wins we have to wait a whole week for basketball. No thanks.

I’ll take the fightin’ Chalamets.

Potentially the last NBA game on TNT.

Pour one out for Bob Neal, Vince Cellini and Dick Versace with his white fro.

Likely ref shenanigans tonight to extend the series? Looks like they're letting em play so far, but that could change quickly.
