NBA on TNT Ratings Down 22 Percent From Last Season, Adam Silver blames LeBron going to LA

The NBA's national television ratings are down this season with TNT facing a 22 percent drop compared to a five percent drop for ESPN.

LeBron James' move from the Eastern time zone to the Pacific time zone with the Lakers is believed to be a major factor.

“Crazy how one guy moves and so does the whole sport,” one TV executive said.

“I think when you look at the numbers that there’s no question that part of it is attributed to our most popular player moving West,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said on Monday. “That earlier East Coast time slot of 8 o’clock, we knew would be impacted by him going west. These things work out over time. I mean, our ratings were up on Christmas Day. They’re not down on ESPN the way they are on TNT, so sometimes it’s just a function of the other games they get. There’s certainly no one at Turner or the NBA that is concerned about it.”

Are agents being proactive about this by getting their guys locked in now?

Good. When someone like Timofey Mozgov gets $64 million, the cap needs some adjustment.

Because the NBA forgot how to hype its talent when it let all of its talent gather in one place (Golden State)

Season Started too soon. That’s the problem. I can’t imagine the playoff ratings being down.

The product is dookie and they are chasing the Empire crowd with all of the social media drama. Men don’t want that fake catty nonsense. The playing field provides enough natural conflict.

To me there is no art in the game within the flow

It’s turned into street ball and who can throw up the most 3s and not play defense

Last week there were 4 teams that scored over 140!

Too many big market bitches in the NBA. Harden plays like a bitch. Lebron is a SJW bitch. Everyone knows what a bitch Durant and Boogie are. Kyrie complains like a 7th grade school girl. Small market fans already resent these franchises. These guys are giving them even more reasons to tune out.

I dont watch the NBA.

They dont care about the small market teams. They allow the players to go where they want. There are practically less than 3 teams that can win it this year

While I do think the product and quality of play is shitty outside of 3-4 teams, I will continue to say that super teams (Golden State) have ruined the league.

As a Dallas fan, the race for the top 8 in the west is the only thing entertaining me this season.

I’m one of the biggest basketball fans out there.

I have watched one full NBA game this season, and that was in person. The product is complete crap right now. There’s no drama whatsoever.

The way the NBA is set-up now, we've come to expect a shitty regular season, with an exceptional postseason. Unfortunately, most of the postseason series have fallen flat as well.

Good, the way they market it you would think there were only 4 teams in the NBA.

This reality show should renegotiate with E or Bravo. Can’t figure out why people don’t want to watch James Harden dribble and shoot 90% of their viewing time.

Maybe.. they should cater to the east coast for TV times? Only makes sense considering most of the population is on this side.
