Lol. Hes similar to Capela in the sense that hes a fringe max player who could get better...but doesn't really seem like a guy that could be the center of a really good team.
As far as Parsons goes I think once he got paid in Dallas he really turned off his motivation to be a good NBA player.
I think a little secret when it comes to guys who are injured often, at least for some players, is that their commitment to rehabbing, working out and staying healthy isnt exactly optimal.
Tracy McGrady is supposedly one of those guys who didnt take of his body or himself and by all accounts he really lost a lot of motivation at about 30. I know his body broke down, but a big part of that was his lack of commitment to taking care of it.
I think Parsons was more interested in just being an NBA player than being a guy who wanted to work hard, get better, and win.
You could see the transition in Houston once he started to get pretty good and get some attention. He started modeling in jeans commercials and shite...then he had those pictures of him signing his contract with Cuban in a club? Kind of a weird guy. I wasn't upset he left.

I don't think the Rox will have the money available to resign him in '19 unless they trade Ryno, which will be damn near impossible.
They'll still have his Bird Rights, so they can pay him whatever (up to 25% of the cap). If he wants to stay, he has more leverage next offseason to meet with other teams as there will be more space out there and teams won't be disincentivized to offer him because he won't be a RFA.

Clint needs to go ahead and take his 4 for 15 deal or whatever and get to work. #Run it back
He has to feel like he could get more than this on the open market next offseason.

Pretty sure Dallas will jump all over signing him next year to a fat contract if he takes the QO this season.
But what I’m saying is there aren’t any teams looking to sign him right now. The market is dried up. Clint doesn’t have any leverage right now to force the Rockets to pay him lots of money.
The one power play he still has this summer is the threat of signing the QO. The Rockets don’t want that. And Clint doesn’t really want that either.

Eh, a 10 mil pay decrease this season is worth it if you can sign a contract next offseason that will net you 20-30 mil more than you are being offered now.

Can we just rename the NBA the CBA (Coastal Basketball Association)?
Now Lillard wants to go to LA or NYK.
At some point, 80-85% of the NBA All-Stars will be in LAL/GS/NYK/BOS if not more.
Ridiculous.
And the media is eating this up like this is a GREAT thing.
I fricking hate ESPN.

Also I’m pretty sure Lillard already came out and shot this down

And the money wouldn't work...at all. I have no idea how that stuff gets started

Nerlens is a lazy arse who doesn't work on his game. Plus he is so stupid he got popped enough times for pot to catch a suspension when he was going to be getting 30+ minutes a game to showcase himself.
Capela meanwhile has gotten better every year and works his arse off.
Unless he suffers a major season ending injury he is going to get paid more on his next contract that Noel will make in his entire career.
