Sounds like the clips are in a good spot to land him.

This is the Paul George situation playing out a year later. Someone will take a swing on him hoping they can convince him to stay.

This seems like a great way to stay trapped in San Antonio this year. He could at least pretend like he was re-signing with other teams so they'd give up assets to get him. Why would anybody go for him when he's openly admitting this?

So SA's pride gets in the way of getting anything of substance for Kawhi?

Same thing that happened with George. Someone will take a flyer on him thinking they will convince him to stay. It hurts his value, but someone will step up to the plate and make something happen

I could definitely see Pop taking a lesser deal from the Clippers just to avoid giving Kawhi what he wants.

If the Lakers somehow land Lebron and PG this summer, Kawhi’s leverage is shot because there’s no way they can sign him next summer.

I still cannot believe that he's willing to leave all that money on the table.

According to Jabari Young the Pop Kawhi meeting went well.

When you're miserable, makes it a lot easier.

I wish players were more direct like Eric Bledsoe. He wanted out and said as much. No games/no bs.

Hate all this sources said this or that

I feel like people keep underestimating the Lakers interest in getting this done. They cant bring kawhi in if they get lebron and pg and the pitch to lebron will undoubtedly focus on having Kawhi and pg. I think the Lakers can overpay here and make the spurs say no

I don’t see why the Spurs would keep him. He makes it known he’s leaving next year. Better to get something than nothing for him

JR threw soup at a coach. We had a fight in a secret tunnel in the Staples Center. Markelle Fultz completely forgot how to shoot a basketball.

But Kawhi was this guy who just seemed to be so humble and avoided the spotlight. And then the Spurs, always seem to be the perfect organization.

The whole thing is just so weird. Kawhi was cleared to play, but chose not to because of a different doctor's recommendations. Never a good sign, and just seemed so unlike him.
