Lakers still with plenty of potential flexibility and assets to make another splash via trade

quote:

Lakers, with LeBron James’ 4-year, $153M and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s 1-year, $12M, can create $2.2M of cap room, including Julius Randle’s cap hold. Removing Randle’s cap hold adds $11.6M. Stretching Luol Deng adds $9.8M. Trading Deng adds $17.2M. Also have R-MLE ($4.4M).

I'm trying to tell Pels Talk that Elfrid is bad and the downvotes are raining down.

because he wasnt even a sidekick there. Just a bench player
Seriously though.

How do you simultaneously be a bench player AND choke a series away?

Only one man could do it.

Yea. They can definitely create room. This just confirms Randle wont be coming back if they want to make another major move

He was playing on a shite team and he knew he wouldn’t be there long term. No time to learn the plays, interim coach. Etx etx. Did you think you were getting his best?

He's meh. Give me 15-20 minutes of being a pass first pg who can get 3pt shooters like Moore, Miller, and Niko open shots and I'll live with the results.

Thats all I expect from a bench guard.

No one is saying he's great or will start, but you're equating him being the 2/3rd point guard for 10-15 mins to playing for a team actively trying to lose.

Before the trade in Orlando, he was having by far the best shooting season of his career and his assist/to ratio is pretty good.

Lakers can have the best defensive team in the league by far with a trade of Ingram, Kuzma, and Deng for Leonard.

PG - Ball (very good defensively) - Needs to shoot a lot better playing with Lebron
SG - Caldwell-Pope (both good shooters and good defensively)
SF - Leonard (Second most complete player in the league)
PF - James (Most complete player in the league)
C - Mcghee - (great rebounder and shot blocker

Bench
Hart - great 3 and D player
Randle - good scorer and rebounder - might be starting center
Stephenson - very good bench player with solid playoff experience
Wagner - great shooting big man.

You can kiss my arse with both of these and probably the first one too.

I watched him play. Squeezing past a screen and dumping it off to someone who shouldn't shoot who takes and makes a shot isn't impressive.

You should know how much I watched this guy because of how hard I hated on him.

Rebounds?! Dude he's a tall PG who doesn't stay behind the line because he's the worst fricking shooter in the league and we have long rebounds now bc everyone shoots.

How the hell are you going to say he's a good rebounder like that's something that teams would value in him?

His supporting cast also sucked in Phoenix when they began actively tanking.

They were freaking bad, absolutely horrible defensively as well.

Which makes it sadder how the pelicans outside of AD/Jrue had a worse drtg than phoenix

Basketball...

He's a great passer, a very good rebounder for a guard, and can be good defensively.

Huh?

They're both attractive players. Why can't we get rid of one and not the other?

Because you're not getting Kawhi without Ingram included.

Elfrid got benched for the guy the Suns cut today because he was that bad.

FWIW I do think Jrue will be a better back court partner for him, but IDK that Gentry is going to get anything out of him.
