Watching the nuggets-timberwolves game, jokic at free throw line after being fouled by Reid and there were multiple defenders lined up with feet on the line. Reid was closest to the camera and half his foot was on the line.
Yeah it didn’t affect the outcome but it’s a rule. Get off my lawn.

The NBA has basically followed the policy of "don't ruin the game with ticky tack calls" so long that now none of the players follow any of the rules. They just need to power through one awkward half season of calling everything, and they will find they have a more watchable product in no time.

I’ve noticed it on inbounding the ball. Sometimes multiple players are standing out of bounds. They use to call technicals for that

It’s all little things that make the game incrementally easier. And if its not going to be called or followed then you are only hurting yourself if you don’t try.
ETA and it’s not like Im hate watching. I like players on both these teams and Naz is one of my favorite LSU basketball players.

The NBA is a pickup game league. There are no rules only refs to enforce league narratives.

Wait till you watch literally any player dribble. Every dribble is a carry

Every NBA player today would be called for fouls if they even played biddy-ball rules that were in effect when I was a kid.
The game has devolved to a slam-dunk contest.

Honestly I'd love to know how many lane violations have been called in the NBA over let's say the last 25 yrs. Can't remember the last time I've seen one.

We were eating dinner at a restaurant while the Cavs vs Raptors was on. My wife who absolutely never watches basketball, but played in HS was just going on and on about how everyone is traveling. At one point she just said.........I mean he just took 5 steps. I agree just call it.......

Same with college. This rule might as well not exist anymore.

I noticed that too this last March Madness. The missed travels (dudes legit taking 4 steps, in the open) and carries was unlike anything I've ever seen before.

There was a pivotal one late in game 1 of the finals last year. Siakam missed a free throw, they called a lane violation and he got to reshoot and made it. Pacers ended up winning by 1.
