I dunno about this guy. He used to struggle to get his shot off at this level. How is his defense?

Oh he has been absolutely terrible in the NBA. Chicago was dying for some sort of shooting last season and he barely saw the floor.

I still think it is a great signing on a 1 year deal for a team that needs shooting.

His job will be basically to sit in a corner and hit 3s.

Should be alright

If you're trading Wiggins for Love, you better be sure that Irving, LeBron, and Love will be a good enough core because you're stuck with them + scrubs.

If you don't trade for Love, you could end up having 4 stars if Wiggins becomes Pippen and you sign a big FA in the offseason. at least for 3-4 years you'd be the big 4

That was his job in Chicago as well and could never pull it off. I'm skeptical, but I hope it works out because I love me some Jimmer.

He can't guard anyone and he has a hard time getting his shot off without a dribble drive and kick PG to collapse the defense. He might work in NOLA if they use him correctly

Playing next to Tyreke could actually work really well

Yep and either Smith or Rivers as well

Rivers(or russ)
Jimmer
Tyreke
Anderson
Ajinca

That's a pretty second unit

Anthony Morrow was known as one of the worst defensive players in the league. So at least that's an even trade.

Pels have some drive and dish guys that could find him an open look. Kickouts from Davis etc. Maybe Monty can get some of that Spur ball movement over in NOLA.

The issue to me is that Wiggins is a SF. I understand that the positions in NBA today are fluid but that's two of the same player on the court.

Irving, Lebron, and Love are a better trio than Wade, Lebron and Bosh.

For the past 3 years, their defensive rating on average are pretty much the same.

Really?

If they got rid of everyone but Lebron, Kyrie and Wiggins and didn't take any salary back, they could have around $19m in cap space.

just, no.

the reason you trade for love NOW is that it allows the Cavs to free up some cap space ( Wiggins, Bennett and Haywood) and also own Love's bird rights so they can go into the luxury tax to sign him.

Love is 1st or 2nd best PF in the league (and a top ten player); Lebron is #1 in the world; and Kyrie is a top 20 player. Guys like Love do not come around on the trading block when you already have LBJ and Kyrie on your roster.

Cavs are championshipless since 1964 - you do not wait around to see what Wiggins *might* become - you act NOW.

I don't think the "bird rights" thing works in this situation
