I think he's an average ball on defender... definitely not great by any means if that clears up anything. And once you factor his other contributions, that doesn't make him terrible defender.
Regardless, team defense matter more than individual defense. Prime example the Bulls. How strong he is individually is less important as opposed to the system they have in place and how they play together. Too much is being made on how "terrible" of a defender Love supposedly is.

I don't consider it a be all end all stat. It definitely has it flaws as well as many other advanced statistics. If I did, I'd say something stupid like Kevin Love plays really good defense... and that wouldn't come out my mouth.

The Cavs trading Wiggins for Love, as long as he isn't a rental, is a no brainer.

The wolves would have some fun, young talent. I have been hoping for Lebron to Cleveland so they could get Wiggins

I don't see either keeping Wiggins or trading him for Love as bad options. I just don't see what the rush is. T'Wolves are playing hardball, they could easily keep Love on the trading block until February. If Wiggins is the best they can get for Love, they'll still want it in February, so what's the harm in seeing how the current Cavs squad meshes together? Maybe they'll be more keen on taking some of the other Cavs pieces later in the season.
Letting it leak that Wiggins is on the table does absolutely nothing for Cleveland's leverage. I don't get it. However much Cleveland says is available, the T'Wolves will ask for much more. Why would they concede their most valuable piece?

...because at some point you have to start an actual negotiation. They tried to pull off a deal without Wiggins, Flip hung-up the phone. There is no sense playing games and pretending the starting point is anything other than Wiggins.

This.
I said this a few days ago and someone in here said that the TWolves should take the trade where they get Klay Thompson, Tristan Thompson, Cavs get Love, and GS gets the draft picks because "it was the best they could get and they should just take what they can get." I
And Im with you. If they want to keep Wiggins, I get it. If they wanna trade him for Love, I get it. Honestly either way is a win win for the Cavs. However, Lebron is 29 and wants to win asap. So I can kinda see him pushing for the Love trade. But who knows.

I wouldn't even have the conversation until December. That's when we'll have more information. What if Wiggins plays like the best rookie since Lebron himself? I don't trade him in that situation. What if Bennett and Waiters blossom and they become a lot more attractive in trade negotiations? What if the team is sitting in first place in the East and are rolling along? Do you still break up the team for Love? The landscape can change a lot by then.
I just think Cleveland may sell their players short by panicking to get Love this summer. See how well they look next to Lebron and who knows what the T'Wolves will take in February.

Because it's a game of chicken.
T'Wolves do not want to wait to February to trade. They will lose leverage because they have to move Love and their trade partners know that. The closer to the trade deadline, the harder it will be for the T'wolves to get the best package.

Exactly. What if Wiggins is Scottie Pippin? What if he's not? Cleveland holds the cards here

So if you're Cleveland would you be better off trading Wiggins for Love? Would you guys do it? I wanted to get y'all's opinion on that
