Wizards have engaged Rockets and Pelicans in three-team deal to facilitate Trevor Ariza going to the Rockets and Omer Asik going to NO.

I feel like the rockets agreed to trade Asik two weeks ago yet they still haven't done shite

This Asik trade has taken forever

Wizards will take non-guaranteed contract of Melvin Ely from NO & get $8.5M TPE for Ariza, who will do sign and trade to go to Houston.

Rockets swung for the fences and it didn't work out, it was still the right move and we are still way better than the pelicans whose sad life is only better when the rockets don't do well.
The Rockets based their entire offseason on the pipe dream that Bosh/Melo/Lebron would come. It was dumb and completely blew up in their face. Are you really that much better than the Pelicans? You have huge holes at PG and PF, positions where the Pelicans have all stars.

Pelicans will get Asik, Omri Casspi & 1.5M from Houston. Rockets get Ariza from Wizards, Alonzo Gee and 2015 protected first from Pelicans.

i love how this analogy has continued to be used by rockets fans as though it justifies how fricked they just got this offseason. another 1st round exit, if they even make the playoffs

Yes they are better.
These are the risk they needed to take. If we sign bosh and match parsons, everyone is calling morey a genius. It was a calculated risk but saying it's stupid is hindsight.
I'm still baffled why pelican fans care so much about the rockets.

Have you seen the Astros regular lineup? If so, you understand how Houston fans think this is normal.

you're baffled about why we care about a division rival?

the fact that's all you have to say shows how poor the rockets' offseason has been

Parsons will definitely be missed. He is a very good player and was the best bargain in the NBA for 3 years. He will make Dallas an even more explosive team offensively. If Ariza can play the defense he is known for, I will feel a little better about losing Parsons. I agree with management, but it still hurts. Without Bosh, even if Parsons had returned, you're bringing back the same team that lost in the first round of the playoffs. I agree that not picking up his option for this year sucks thou.

Pelicans fans have a bad case of something when it comes to the Rockets...

Are you kidding? No way that the Rockets are better after this off season.
Pelicans probably passed the Rockets up this off season.

Legit interesting question: What's more likely, Ariza's shot being sustainable, or Parson developing defense like many young players do?

Don't you have to be somewhat sure though? You loose a key starter and some very important back ups. That's a pretty big dismantling of the core of your team, with only a small addition
