drian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Houston will not match the $46M Dallas offer sheet for Chandler Parsons

Houston went from hoping to get LBJ, to Carmelo, to Bosh, to re-signing Parsons.... none of that happened and now left with Ariza Man did not see that coming...

How does Morey even justify declining Parsons option if he wasn't even going to match the offers he was going to get? Houston has completely fricked up their entire offseason.

Structure of Chandler Parsons' offer sheet requested by agent Dan Fegan made matching deal too costly for Rockets once they missed on Bosh

With three-year offer sheet to Parsons and opt-out after Year 2, Houston made internal decision it would only match if Bosh signed on, too

What I dont get is the excuse that Parsons contract would restrict them from building for the future.... yet Harden and Parsons were the 2 key guys for the future. And they just let Parsons go. Parsons is 25 and Harden is 24... those were the future building blocks for them to keep for a long time.

Just a weird, weird, weird decision for Houston to not match his offer sheet, especially considering it sounded like they would.

Cuban... you sly dog you. Dont forget, Dirk taking the hometown discount 3/$30m is the reason the Mavs were able to do this

Houston had to decline Parsons if they ever wanted to get any better over the next 3 years. Or that's the way I look at it. Smart move over the long run in my eyes.

Rockets definitely just got a little worse though

Those two should not be combined based on this offseason.

At the time, it was the smartest move

In my eyes anyways

If they resigned him they would have been basically stuck with the same team for the next 3 years. And this current team isn't good enough to contend, which is what they are trying to do.

They would basically be maxed out on the cap next off season with Howard, Harden, Parsons, and Ariza.

Rox need to land a big upgrade of a stretch 4 and they'll be a better team than last year. Last years team was full of redundancies and lacked perimeter defense

I was hoping for mat hawes but he went to the damn clips.

If by smart, you mean the German army's surrender at Stalingrad, then sure.

Declining the offer was smarter than resigning parsons

That make you feel better?

Rockets swung for the fences and it didn't work out, it was still the right move and we are still way better than the pelicans whose sad life is only better when the rockets don't do well.
