arent Ariza and Parsons the same player really?
Why go over the cap to create a logjam?

Yeah, I understood the premise of signing a bunch of players with the cap space you have and then using Parson's bird rights to go over the cap. Ariza just doesn't make much sense to me.

...Rockets could get Ariza, match Parsons, all while still preserving their MLE, BAE and $8.4M Lin TPE. Ideal scenario for Houston.

He would get a lot of minutes backing up Parsons and Harden and his defense would be a huge welcome.

I think a big reason they sign both is because Parsons is still a good asset, even with that contract. By signing both you can move Parsons without creating a hole at SF

Ariza at 8 is more of an asset than Parsons at 15 IMO

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Marvin Williams agrees to two-year, $14 million deal with Hornets, source tells Yahoo. Fully guaranteed, no option.

Has it been discussed that Lebron will reportedly wear #32 next season?

Going to have to get used to not thinking of NOLA when seeing Hornets.

Exactly. If the Rockets just replaced Parsons with Ariza straight-up they basically return last year's team with slightly better defense and a much weaker bench. Ariza makes a lot more sense as a sixth man considering they have Parsons' Bird rights and can go over the cap matching him.

Except Ariza is 30 and Parsons is 25 and hits free agency in 2016 or 2017, both expected to be big yrs in free agency

Any 1st round pick coming from Cleveland will be a late one, right? Doesn't seem like the Warriors are getting much. Doubt this goes through.

@daldridgetnt: Rockets still deciding on whether to match offer sheet for Chandler Parsons, even though they've already reached agreement w/Trevor Ariza.
