Leonard has been deciding between the Toronto Raptors, Lakers and LA Clippers. If the best available free agent doesn't make his decision by noon ET on Saturday, the Lakers would need the New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards to cooperate on pushing back the July 6 date -- the earliest the trade can be made official -- agreed upon on the Davis deal.

League sources told ESPN's Bobby Marks that the Pelicans, Hawks and Wizards are expected to cooperate with the Lakers if Leonard is still undecided by noon on Saturday. The date was agreed upon initially in the Lakers' and Pelicans' deal sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks for Davis. The deal was based on the Lakers using the $32 million in cap space created on a max free agent, such as Leonard or on other players available.

If the Pelicans, Hawks and Wizards do not agree to delay the date to make the trade official past Saturday should Leonard remain undecided, the Lakers' cap space would shrink to $30 million and Los Angeles would be able to offer Leonard only a four-year deal worth $127 million compared to the four-year, $138 million contract they can offer with $32 million available in cap space.

This is definitely due to pressure from the league. And I half expect the league to start getting involved in this kawhi thing

Way too many teams are impacted by it at this point

It would be really funny if New Orleans screwed the Lakers again.

Pels want the trade to go through for sure. We got overpaid for sure. No reason not to allow them more time.

I don't know why people laugh at Javale. 12, 7.5 and a 21.8 PER in 22 MPG last year.

Because of Shaqtin a fool. He's a solid player now.

Javale was objectively a net positive last year
Except when he was on the court.

-3.7 net rating.

It’s got to be a league thing.

Also there is no reason to delay anything. Kawhi knows what the deal is right now. I don’t understand why we would hold up business. It isn’t like there hasn’t been plenty of time to figure it out. I want the Pels to go ahead and bring in their people.

There were a lot of problems with the Lakers last year. Basically any two group of players on that team had a negative net rating, or within +1, unless they were paired with lebron. The only exception here is the pairing of kuzma and hart

Mcgee had an indiduval net rating of +13 and a vorp of under 2 in only 20 minutes a game. Those are fine numbers for someone who will get the min and play about 20 minutes a game
