I'm not being dramatic, you're just choosing to dismiss facts that don't benefit you. These are multi million transactions that the league wants executed in very specific ways. I'm not saying the league doesn't have the power to set this aside and handle it as a special situation, but holding up this trade would be outside of the normal business rules and would require just that, the league choosing to handle it as a special situation.
Maybe commissioner Silver can get the other teams to back down by reminding them who's local TV contract funds a big part of those revenue sharing checks they receive each year, but if that's not enough to pacify them, I don't see the benefit to Silver or the league to unilaterally side with the Lakers against 7 other teams affected in this case.
You're delusional if you don't see how that looks bad for Silver to choose the Lakers over the other teams in this case. He's beholden to all of the owners and he'd have picked the Lakers when they didn't have the rules on their side in this case and other teams were merely asking him to enforce the rules all 30 teams agreed to.
