No, he wants a combo of money and role. The Lakers can offer the role, but money only if Kawhi doesn't come.
The Lakers can't offer Green until Kawhi formally declines because they don't want to burn the bridge with Kawhi. So, Green is stuck until he knows if the Lakers spot is open.

Yeah that build a team for $10 thing made no sense. I think most knew Bev would get at $12MM per annum. He was only an option if the Lakers pulled out of the Kawhi race early and split the cap amongst 2-3 role players iirc

They’ve missed out on every player that could have been signed with ~30 million in cap space, assuming Kawhi goes elsewhere
