They remind me of the 2006 / 2007 Nawlins Hawnits, my favourite team ever (if only Peja didn't come up snake eyes in all the key moments)

Well that win was the very definition you “fluky”.

I’d normally agree, but when it is like the 5th time to happen to the same team in the playoffs I have a hard time calling it fluky anymore.

It was a great game. Pacers are a never die team like I haven’t seen in a long time. They had what felt like 100 turnovers and still won on the road.

Well that sucked yet was incredible to witness in person.

I have no clue why people continue to doubt this Pacers team.

Cant wait for OKC to fire the coach for such a collapse.

They lose and Durant resigns with them.

Second, I have a feeling there is going to be some TERRIBLE calls this series as SGA flails around primarily looking for contact and not trying to make his shots.

Of course there will be terrible calls. Referees will be there.

People have been downplaying their run so far, I think they had a tougher road to get to the finals than OKC. Cleveland was a damn good team and the Pacers annihilated them.

You may be right tbh. Cleveland was dealing with some injury issues though. I also feel like playoff Denver is better than their record, but this gets a bit circular (“look how good they are, they took OKC to 7!” “OKC had the tougher road bc Denver is so good”). Also, I think people were too quick to say Minnesota just sucks—they’re a good team and it matters that OKC wrecked them.

But people are definitely oversimplifying just from the fact that the West this year >> the East. If you actually compare the draws, they’re pretty even IMO. And the Pacers have had to claw back from worse spots all year. More adversity to overcome.

I'll push back on this.

Bucks and Grizz were pretty even, and both lost a key player (Dame and Ja).

Cavs were absolutely not better than Nuggets. Jokic is still the best player in the world. The Cavs dealt with injuries to Evan Mobley, De'Andre Hunter, Darius Garland as well as Donovan Mitchell. The Nuggets had a late series injury to Aaron Gordon. The Nuggets have been in 14 series with Jokic and Murray collectively. 13 of those 14 series they have either won or gone to a game 7.

I think Knicks and T'Wolves are pretty similar overall.

The 2nd round series was vastly different. I would love to have seen the Pacers face the full strength Cavs.

The Nuggets also played that entire series with MPJ barely able to lift his shooting arm and Westbrook having 3 broken bones in his shooting hand...

Pacers have had the tougher road

Grizzlies, no coach, young and stupid roster
Denver, no coach, no bench
T-Wolves, another incredibly dumb team just a hair better than Memphis
