Your first post in this thread was 50 minutes ago. I'd get that checked out.

Her job is whatever she says it is. And today, she said talking to the Roland Garros press wasn't part of her job.
And as such, Roland Garros said she's not eligible to play in their tournament. I have no problem with either party. She didn't feel comfortable talking to the media, which is a requirement set forth by the Tournament. They shouldn't have to change their rules because of one player, but we both know what's going to happen. Media availability is going to become more optional for players.
Which is insane because it'll be pushed by the media, and that's how they make their money. As do the athletes.

Monica Seles literally got stabbed on a tennis court and came back. You think she wasn’t dealing with some fricking demons?
Osaka is yet another in a more regular line of weak, self absorbed modern professional athletes. More-so in individual sports, but these kids grow up committing the major of their time and resources to playing a sport all while being coddled by their parents and coaches. The end result is an adult who thinks they are the center of the universe and unable to cope with simple stress.
Awww poor wittle ridiculously overpaid athlete is upset about having to do a press conference? Get outta here with that shite.

No, she doesn’t. The tournament extended her invitation to play. Their rules include speaking to the media. You don’t like it, you get fined or you forfeit or you can quit. She chose option C.
Yes, as I said, as her own boss she can choose to discontinue her participation in the tournament. Today, she exercised that choice.

Op Steve triggered by a teenage girl
Posted on 5/31/21 at 7:17 pm to longwayfromLA
Yeah that's not directly I agree. I dont think it's TRUE anyway. This stuff with the girl started with her saying she didnt want to talk to the media and she would pay the 20gs fine. She doesnt like to be asked questions when its after a loss

There is always peace and quiet in the shitter. I never imagined that someone would be so interested in my defecatory habits as to do research on it, but everybody has a kink. I won't judge you.

It does not appear that we disagree

The team leagues will just dictate to the players. In individual sports, the tournaments will just have to figure it out, at least for the star players who drive revenue. But that's no different than anything else in entertainment.

The same ones bitching about Osaka are the very same ones saying frick sports journalists and journalism at large and dick ride Marshawn Lynch’s media disdain and antics all the time.
Hypocritical shite birds.

Wonder why the comments are so harsh? Hmmm.
Posted on 5/31/21 at 7:23 pm to Athos
Somewhat true. At least Lynch was honest about it though.
I have a hard time believing Osaka's stance.

Michael Jordan took two years off in his prime because of mental health issues. Flat quit his job to take up a childhood hobby because he was going through some things.

A teenage girl that hates America and is an overrated tennis player
Posted on 5/31/21 at 7:27 pm to Steve nebrasks
CNN will be running specials on her weekly.
Count on it.
Count on it.
Posted on 5/31/21 at 7:28 pm to Steve nebrasks
She's not a teenager and she doesn't hate America. I believe her decision to identify as Japanese was very calculated much like her reason given for her withdrawal today. Eta: bullshite

It seems like you're implying that she's bigger than the tournament. She's not.

Hypocritical shite birds.
Most sports journalists are self absorbed pricks that don't ask good questions because they're nerds that never played sports.
Interesting athletes drive people to watch through them talking to the media.
Both of those things can be true.

Athletes don't make money by doing postgame interviews. Nobody gives a flying frick about those.
"Hey, what were you thinking when you lost?!?!"
"I was thinking shite, I just lost. This sucks."

She can’t talk to the media but she can die her hair bright colors, pose half naked in bikinis for her own line of bathing suits and get that check though you better believe that. Osaka is a frickin joke, soft as baby shite !

Her and Kyrie should make a crazy baby.

I'm not implying anything. I'm saying directly that as her own boss, she can play or not at her own discretion. Whether she's bigger than the tournament, whatever that means, is immaterial.
