My son will be born in October: would it be wrong to start him a year late?

Say I start him when he’s 6 instead of 5. He’ll turn 7 october of kindergarten. Will this be worth it athletically or make him a social outcast for being so much older than everyone else in his grade? The benefits I see are I could start getting him into a lifting regimen in the 5th grade 2 years before most of his peers.

Understand I’m not doing this to dominate kids in lower grade. It’s so he can start on the high school team as a 9th grader and get more exposure for college. I will be teaching him route trees, concepts, defensive alignments and offensive formations from the time he’s 8.

This stupid shite was already done last week arse clown.

Your kid is likely going to attend super kindergarten anyway all on his own. I wouldn’t think you’d need to force that inevitability.

Too late man. If you don't have him on a HGH regimen by his toddler years he'll never make the 6U USA 5D Select team, and therefor never even play JV ball in HS.

My line of thinking is to start him early so there’s less ware and tear on his ligaments/tendons. Especially since they’ll probably be a skill position we want to keep the miles down before the NFL

Considering the fact that you're asking this, it will be great when he's held back later in life and becomes ineligible for any sports his senior year

And October kid turning 6 in kindergarten is going to be one of the oldest kids already.

He's going to be 7 while many of his classmates are still 5.

Your unborn child doesn't have a D-1 offer yet?
Might as well get him a helmet and adult sized diapers.

Does it even matter? He’ll end up at John Melvin University either way.

My kid was born in November and wish I could start him this year instead of next.

If you are serious about this, start him on time and hold him back

So your kid will be 19 in high school because you're worried about him being physically superior to other kids in the 5th grade.

Kids sports has become one of the most bizarre and eye opening topics on this site

Bruh. You’re about to have a kid. The single most awesome thing that will happen in your life. Just pray that him and mama are healthy and figure it out from there.

Mine is last week of August and we put him through K 2x.

Best decision ever.

That would be silly. Turning 6 in October of Kindergarten is already on the older side of his class.

Good thing he wasn’t September, then you would have had to hold him back twice.

With Oct he will already be the oldest in class.

You should probably get him signed up for Travel Ball now.
