If I’m running the Big 10, I see the weakness in the sec and take full advantage.

The big 10 should expand to 36 teams. The tv deal would be massive. Talk to streaming services like the nfl and add on as well.

Right now, I’d reach out to LSU and Texas AM. LSU obviously isn’t happy with the sec at this point and tamu would see a chance at more money and a way to frick Texas over again.

Once those two dominoes fall, go all in on ACC and big 12 teams. The increase in media revenue for them should cover the buyout easily.

Create 3 12 team divisions: big 10 north, south, and west. Name a champion from each 12 team division. The top 2 teams play each other in a conference championship game. Guarantee playoff spots for the 3 winners.

First stab at it could look something like this:

If they were smart they’d get ahead of where this inevitably going:

Big 10 north
-osu
- Michigan
- msu
- Illinois
- northwestern
- Indiana
- Purdue
- Rutgers
- Maryland
- Penn state
- Minnesota
- Wisconsin

Big 10 west
- Iowa
- Nebraska
- usc
- ucla
- Washington
- Oregon
- Arizona
- Arizona st
- byu
- Kansas st
- Kansas
- Utah

Big 10 south
- Texas am
- lsu
- fsu
- Miami
- Clemson
- unc
- Duke
- Virginia
- Virginia tech
- Texas tech
- tcu
- GT

This puts them in EVERY market the sec is in and then some.

think bigger. Think about a conference that leaves the ncaa.

LSU's endowment is like 700M. You would be at the bottom of the B12. You should thank baby Jesus we don't kick you out.

The will likely try and add Georgia Tech and Miami in the next two years. There is no reason to have a 36 team conference.

Auburn hasn't won more than 6 games since 2019. Talk about embarrassing.

Well then the Big 10 members would be better off voting to dissolve the conference and create an entirely new entity with these SEC and ACC teams. That way they can cut dead weight like Rutgers, Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota, and maybe 1-2 more.

Dude you took LSUs net assets of its foundation

I don’t know what to tell you, but I’m trying to be nice. You are out of your element

That is exactly what is going to happen, but not now. Schools will start exploring it when these deals end.

Big 10 - 2030
Big 12 - 2031
SEC - 2034
ACC - 2036

Isn't the Big 10 rather picky about academics? Maybe they have given that up in this new era.

Also speaking on endowments, they are all kinda flimsy now. So much of it is in the private sector the valuations are murky at best

Looking at one endowment land in Bulgaria was a 50 million dollar item

It's not so much academics as it's research money from grants. The schools still make way more money working together for grants than they do via sports so the Big 10 breaking up over potential sports money is a fantasy.
