Not power 5 but favorite team outside used to be Fresno State. Because they just didn't give a shite about rules or anything with Pat Hill.
Dennis Erickson didn't give a shite about rules or thugs on his team...and Pat Hill's team out-thugged Oregon State back in the day...probably 2001.
It was the biggest thuggish game I've ever seen.
That was crazy NorCal ghetto ball.
(And they just opened the bowl season beating Arizona State)
Fresno State is like that seedy cousin that just won't go away, will never get invited to the Pac-12 because they are like Cousin Eddie...
Fresno is so redneck, Chicano, neck tat, eye tat, chick tramp stamp, not far from Folsum prison trash...
...it makes it perfect that they live to upset Pac-12 teams that have the highest higher education credentials and prestige of any other P5 Conference by far.
Only the Ivy is ahead and they aren't P5. They are softie Ivys.

In 2011 they beat Oklahoma State which ultimately allowed Bama to get their rematch. Had Oklahoma State won that game they play LSU in the BCSNCG and they were the type of team LSU would've stomped that year similar to Oregon and West Virginia. So Iowa St indirectly ruined LSU's season.
Though I still think Oklahoma State was the more deserving team to be in the BCSNCG even despite that loss. Especially considering the circumstances surrounding the loss.

Yeah, I remember all of that. That was after the OK St. plane crash. I wasn't thinking indirectly.
