The last 2 LSU losses at home versus Bama. Made me realize I take sports way too seriously. How do I stop this curse?

When Texas lost to Alabama at the Rose Bowl NC game at the end of the 2009 season, for sure.

I had no idea what happened to Colt McCoy until later. When Gilbert came out, I was confused. Word drifted through the stands that he had been knocked out of the game because of injury (someone had a radio, I suppose).

I thought Texas would never get close after that. But they did. To almost overcome the obstacle of having your star quarterback knocked out, and a rookie come in... boy that was tough. When Gilbert fumbled inside the 10 toward the end, I wanted to puke.

Might have been this year's OT loss to Bama. Knowing it was my last game as a student in there played a big factor.

I was positive the series was over at that point. I almost didn't watch Game 6. The first couple blown leads in 2011 by A&M were pretty bad but did not compare to the Pujols moment

at the game? probably this year vs. Bama.... same shite as 2012, but that year i expected to lose by 21 points or more, however this year we were supposed to basically be in the same boat... and we outplayed them for most of the game... and then we lost....

Was at the Skins-Saints game ...HTTR...unfortunately it has been all downhill since then for the RG3 era

The two that stick out to me.

Ireland - NZ (2013) - I have followed Ireland Rugby for way too long, and Ireland has never beaten NZ. I was at the Aviva and the place is going crazy because Ireland jumped out to a nice lead. Less than 10 minutes to go in the game, Ireland gets a penalty and a relatively easy kick that would have made it impossible for NZ to come back. Sexton shanks it. Then NZ turns the ball over and all Ireland has to do is drive the ball for the last 2-3 minutes. Of course, with less than a minute, they turn the ball over, and NZ scores a try after time expired and win. The Guinness was not so tasty that night in Dublin

Game 5 Cards - Nats - Just watching Gio meltdown, then Edwin Jackson, etc at Nats Park was terrible. Being up 6-0 and lose was devastating.

2007 Arkansas @ LSU football. I just knew from the end of the beatdown of Notre Dame the previous year that LSU would be the best team in the country and fully expected them to be in the Sugar Bowl. Having it all seemingly snatched away put me in shock for a couple of days.

2011 BCS Championship. Losing was bad enough but who they lost to, how they lost, where they lost and what was at stake made it excruciatingly painful. I don't think the program and the fans will ever fully recover until they win another championship.

2012 Alabama @ LSU football. Outplayed them for almost the whole game only to go full retard on defense for the last drive. Such a wasted effort. When Yeldon scored I hunched over like someome hit me in the stomach with a baseball bat. I was physically sick.

2012 Saints @ 49ers Divisional Playoff. Probably the best team in Saints history. Elation after Graham's TD to cap an amazing comeback followed by agony just a few minutes later. The Giants beating the Packers later on meaning the Saints would've played at home in the NFC Championship against a team they crushed just a few weeks earlier only made it hurt more. I grew up watching the Montana & Rice 49ers get the best of the Saints even when they had really good teams. This wouldve been some measure of payback. This one will stay with me for a while.

The morning After 21-0 I took a serious look at my life in relation to how I handle a sports. That 3 hour drive to Baton Rouge sucked.

This thread is pissing me off

My non-LSU ones

I'm a Rockets & Astros fan too. It's the same Astros loss for me.

For the Rockets, it's John Stockton hitting the 3 to close the window on the Olajuwon/Drexler/Barkley Rockets in the '97 WCF. I knew that was it for that team.

January 10, 1982. I was 9 years old watching this on my 13" black and white tv in my bedroom. I cried for a while and was devastated. This was the beginning of my emotional rollercoaster sports addiction.

After this game, I made up my mind. I give myself about 30 min to feel bad, then move on. Its not worth the emotional stress anymore.

It was shitty.

Astros losing to the Braves in the '98 playoffs after winning over 100 games was crushing too.
