The responses to this show that a lot of people have no fricking clue how corporate America functions. All of these things can be true at once: Sherrone AND Warde deserve to lose their jobs (and in Sherrone’s case, potentially his freedom), AND from an HR/legal/risk mitigation perspective, there is ZERO excuse for a business as large (and with as many smart people, at least somewhere on campus) to have handled the termination this way. Given his subsequent actions, Warde isn’t lucky Sherrone didn’t try to shank him.

Not incompetent. Moore is a grown man. Of course getting fired will be stressful, but unless Moore went to HR weeks or months ago and said "I'm being treated for depression" or "I have anxiety disorder", Manuel did nothing wrong.

Not saying I don’t think that Moore should’ve been fired or that Manuel should be fired, but this is a pretty dumb reason to fire Manuel if that’s what they’re going for.

Do you understand there is solid evidence and posts of this relationship going on for months and possibly over a year? A simple interview of both sides is a laughable ‘investigation’ into someone like this with their ‘assistant’.
You don’t simply 100% hide this sort of relationship, there’s 100% chance that if other staffers were interviewed they would have suspected something going on. That in itself should warrent auditing phones and likely a 3rd party investigator. You shut it down, move her into a different role, and hide this if you are a good AD. You don’t let a coach continue to bang their personal assistant on payroll that just got a raise.
Looking the other way on a mistress outside of the AD and university is completely different.
