Monaco (as it exists now) should not be an F1 venue anymore.

Either that, or dramatically reduce the size of the cars.

I get that it’s one of those iconic venues, but so were the original Yankee Stadium and Boston Garden.

There comes a time when legacy is too much of an impediment to the sport.

(Since I don’t see them doing anything significant with the cars, this seems the more realistic outcome.)

The number of wealthy people at that sporting event dwarfs any other sporting event in the world.

It isn’t going anywhere.

Yep but the race is boring with no chance to pass.

You think Liberty, the FIA, or any of the team owners give a shite about that in relation to the money that Monaco brings in?

The truest thing I think I've ever seen on any board on this site. These people laugh at FU money.

What is intersting is that if F1 left the GP and weeks of events would still go on.

Would morph into something like Macau

Monaco is going nowhere.

Drivers need millimeter precision for 78 laps or they are done for and memed for being garbage.

Add in the money and the location, the pressure is immense.

The pressure cooker is the race.

I was wondering. Is this like the biggest gathering of billionaires that happens every year?

They had over 4 billion dollars worth of yachts in the harbor

This is the very rich man’s race

They will get back to real racing in a few weeks

Staying in Nice since Thursday, so we took the train over to Monaco on Fri. It was insane the number of models walking around. And the cars driving the roads just wow. I had never seen this car in person before so I grabbed a quick shitty shot as he was leaving:

It was cool just hearing the cars as soon as you got off the train far away. We walked up to the barriers and nearly blew our eardrums out
And yeah, the number of yachts was stupid. We didn't go into the race and actually left after about 2 hours of walking around.

It's qualifying. The race is a joke.

I'm assuming you meant the pressure cooker is qualifying?

Hell you have a current Monaco strategy that a team member can purposefully slow down the pack so his teammate can pit without being passed by anyone. A car can essentially drive as slow as they want to and play it safe around tight corners with not fears of ever being passed.
