Ricardo Mayorga, profession boxer who fought for several welterweight to light heavyweight bouts during his career and would sometimes light up in the ring when the fight was over.

Dave Parker was once the richest athlete in the world after signing the first professional contract that paid an average of $1 million per year for the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was a different time when "The Cobra" was at the peak of his stardom, as seen in this photo from 1980 of him smoking a cigarette in the Pirates' dugout.

Mario Lemieux was a super chain smoker, he literally had a dart waiting for him as soon as the period ended. There are claims of him in between shifts needing a drag.

I've seen and met several athletes/coaches at Fairmount park(race track), and holy frick, Jim Leyland smoked till the place ran out of smokes. He would smoke at table, smoke while eating, smoke while in line to bet, smoke while race is going off, then another cig after race, rinse, repeat every couple minutes.

It's like Leyland had some sort of device in his palm, that once the other cig was close to being done, it would flip another fresh, lit one into his fingers.
