Candelairo is house money at this point w/Bryant blocking him

I'm sure it's already been mentioned in this thread, but Wilson will be important with the possible lefty bats lurking in the playoffs

And he's will be back next season

Much need move to bolster the pen

I just really don't understand the Johnathan Lucroy trade at all. The Rangers bought high and sold low on him.

I don't care how badly he was playing he's worth more than a player to be named later that'll likely never help the big league club.

Lucroy is a FA after this season so that's part of why he fetched so little. Still a great move for the Rockies

good for the cubs to get a guy that other teams were probably hoping would still be there at the deadline

astros must be all in britton and the dodgers must be all in on darvish

tomorrow can be a historic deadline with gray, darvish, and britton getting moved

The deal is final, per Lynn Henning. The Tigers will also receive shortstop Isaac Paredes as well as a player to be named later or cash.

Paredes, 18, is the Cubs’ No. 10 overall prospect. The Cubs signed him as an international free agent on July 31, 2015. This season, with Single-A South Bend, he hit .261/.341/.399 with seven home runs and 49 RBI in 380 plate appearances.

*

Update (11:19 PM ET): Ken Rosenthal reports that, if the deal is completed, the Cubs will also receive catcher Alex Avila from the Tigers. The Tigers will receive Candelario and at least one other player.

Assuming Wade Davis will walk, Wilson will be the closer next year.

Those are gonna be the 3 biggest names being floated around tomorrow, but I think the most intriguing thing to me will be whether Brad Hand gets moved or not (and where to/for how much)

I think the "player to be named" aspect of the deal is an attempt by the Rangers to avoid trade headlines on Sunday. Pudge was inducted into the HOF & Beltre got his 3,000th hit. They didn't want to steal those headlines with any trade news, but Lucroy leaked out.

I predict we will know the name of the other player when the trade is official on Monday.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I know Lucroy is struggling and in his last year, but he's still worth more than the PTBNL

Kinda funny to go back and read the first few pages since it was practically a month ago when this thread was started. A lot of teams in different places
