Major developments: #Tigers closer Shane Greene close to being dealt to #Braves, per @Ken_Rosenthal. If deal is completed, the #Dodgers' top fallback option will be off the board -- thus increasing the pressure on LA to complete deal for Felipe Vazquez. @MLB @MLBNetwork

I'd rather the Dodgers not make a trade than include Lux in a package. We have a need at 2B that Lux can fill for the next dozen years or so. He's also a candidate to bat leadoff, something we also desperately need.

@PavlovicNBCS

Trade deadline is such a weird time. The only Giant on the field right now is Drew Pomeranz, playing catch in a Giants shirt. Deal has not been announced yet.

The frick is St. Louis doing? They need pitching. I swear Mo is a terrible gm.

Cubs and Cardinals need top of rotation help. Winner of division is team who is able to make that deal.

Milwaukee needs 2-3 starters, so they are going to have to out slug and have those sign stealers working extra hard to stay in WC and Division.

Central winner is whoever gets top of rotation starter between stl and chi. If neither gets a starter of that caliber and continues dumspter diving, it will be a cripple fest going to the wire, whoever stays healthy down the stretch wins.

I said this at start of season, that whoever traded for a #1 or #2 SP would win division going away. As of now, Neither Cubs or Cardinals are interested in winning the division going away. They prefer dumpster diving and cripple fights.

Yankees and Astros essentially stand still. Yankees pitching has looked better the last 3 games. Green is struggling and so is Chad Green

Typical August 31st deal that's moved up to July 31st

@martinonyc

Mets appear to be playing a game of chicken where they’re claiming to hold Wheeler if one of the interested teams doesn’t up offer, per teams involved
