Pretty sure they were discussing an extension with Wheeler about a week ago. Seemed like they wanted Wheeler more than Syndergaard according to reports...

I feel bad for Stroman. Played on a bad team for a couple of years, you know its inevitable you'll be traded this year.
Manager: "Hey Marcus, need to talk to you.."
Marcus: Ah man this is it. Wonder where I'm going? Astros, Yankees, Twins have been playing well..."
Manager: "Its been a pleasure but we've traded you to the New York..."
Marcus: Yankees. I knew it. Gonna be great going home to New York and pitching for the ALs best team
