Once one team makes a deal we will know where the price is for everyone. Outside of Thor, I can't see a Chris Archer or Jose Quintana type of deal even though that is what every team wants

I feel like you have to trade bullpen arms when their trade value is at their highest. They can get so much for him right now
or you could be idiots like the Braves and ruin that value by tacking them on to a bad contract. still can't believe that all we wound up getting was a draft pick for Kimbrel (that turned out to be Austin Riley, but still)

Matt Wilser was a top 50 prospect at the time of the trade. The front office should’ve probably traded him around the trade deadline instead of in spring training. I think the quick rebuilds of the Yankees, Cubs, Astros, and Braves have caused teams to think they can contend quicker and shouldn’t move guys with multiple years of control. I feel like baseball deadline could be heading towards rental players and guys having a year and a half of control being moved.

Last few World Series winners made trades that made a difference
Last year Boston with Evoldi/Pearce
Year before Astros with Verlander
Cubs for Chapman, Smith, and Montgomery

The word on the street among GMs and executives talking about the trade deadline: "Eerily quiet.'' The reasoning: The price tag remains exorbitant for the available players; too many teams remain in playoff contention; and fewer teams are willing to deal prized prospects.

Like Bauer and Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman, Minor is under club control for one more season after this one — he is signed for $9.5 million in 2020. Among other available starters, Mets righty Noah Syndergaard is under control for two additional years, Tigers lefty Matthew Boyd for three.

Too late...they are already Houston Astros. What's spoken is written.

If you had done this with Kawhi Leonard, you'd be a happier Lakers fan right now.

I still stand that the Mets won't trade him

You start a Dodgers thread and get your own fantasy. Thor and Lugo belong to the DAT sir.
