What a pedestrian trade deadline this season.
Just looking over the WAR for all these guys that have been traded today, there maybe 2-3 with a WAR over 1.5.
I just quickly glanced at all of them, but with all these guys moving around, you would think that most of them would be above average in anything.

The Dodgers also added OF Kevin Kiermaier at the deadline

Weeks after being put on waivers, the Toronto Blue Jays have traded Kevin Kiermaier to the Los Angeles Dodgers, reports Robert Murray of MLB.com Former Tampa Bay Rays teammate Ryan Yarbrough heads back to Toronto. Kiermaier confirmed last week that 2024 will be his final season in the majors. He will now spend the final months of his career in a Dodger uniform. Kiermaier has a .546 OPS through 217 plate appearances this season. He likely won’t see much field time with Los Angeles, but he could make the occasional start in center field for Andy Pages.

The Dodgers are sending prospects Thayron Liranzo and Trey Sweeney to the Tigers for Jack Flaherty.
Tigers got absolutely fleeced.
They would’ve gotten a comp pic in the 1st rd just for letting him walk next year worth more than either of those two.

It's true. George Springer and Marwin Gonzales were in miserable slumps back in 2017. Springer was in a 3-30 with 11 strikeouts. Marwin 3-28. But then you rember what happened in game 2 there in Dodger Stadium.

Yep, unlike most other sports the wildcard teams in MLB have as good a shot as anyone.
I'll never forget the Cards being 10 games out in September and then winning it all.

The 2021 Dodgers were ridiculously talented.

This may explain why the Dodgers got Flaherty so cheap

A health issue may have played into it. Also, they may have had a handshake agreement with him or the agent where they would trade him to a contender.
But considering what the Astros gave up for Kikuchi

It’s been that way for 121 years, since they started the WS they’ve never paid off the big trophy on the regular season. The problem is there are so many rounds of playoffs now for things to happen.
