Yeah, lot of reported interest as well.

Front office probably wanted to cling to that 4 games back in wildcard to sell to the fans they are still going for it.

Here is an Orioles WTF stat of the night:

Against the Yankees tonight, all 9 hitters for the O's had a strike out. 5 of the 9 had 2 or more strike outs.

I give the Bravos a B+...used the allotment of international money they can't spend to their advantage and pulled solid pen guys like O'Day, brach and centers, then traded guys who didn't fit in the future for Duvall and Gausman. Getting that haul without dipping in your top 20 guys is impressive.

Did we get the stud starter L, reliever,or closer we wanted via trade no but the asking price for arced was too high, same with odins and other stud relievers.

Look for ATL to make a sp and closer splash this offseason.

I think Gausman will improve. Baltimore is not the best place to develop pitchers. There are several pitchers that left and ended up having better seasons. He is young,so there is still time for him. Won't be a 1-3 guy but still can be a solid 4-5 guy.

Also, if he improves he could bring a solid return in the future.

I agree. I think he'll benefit the same way Archer will by getting out of the AL East and going to the NL. He was facing Boston and New York 3-4 times each every year and those lineups are going to inflate your ERA and WHIP.

I think he can be a high-end 4 if not a solid 3 in his good years. Solid get for ATL.

Here is a good article describing how August trades work for those who don’t quite understand it. Won’t be as active as the July 31 deadline but there should still be some moves among contenders

ewqwww do not want Lynn, would have thought Santana

Not like Lynn has been better than Gray, frick I would prefer Gray to Lynn

Didn't get anything that will help either, international money instead of Lynn I would have preferred as a fan.

Lynn is going to take over the role held by Warren... I just don't like this move, would have wanted to keep Warren and just trade Austin for the international money

I'll wait for someone to tell me how Lynn will be an upgrade over Warren.

I don't mind giving up Warren or Austin, but I don't see how Lynn is an upgrade and while it is a wash on money as the Yankees are only paying half of Lynn's salary and the M's all of Warren's I don't see how these moved improved the team right now

Lynn is also not starting, he will assume the role that Warren had with the Yankees. Lynn is not the pitcher he was 3 years ago before TJ. He doesn't look like the pitcher he was last year for the Cardinals either. So not really worried about what he did 3+ seasons ago.

he isn't starting

if they trust Lynn then I hope they just keep Cessa in the rotation

Lynn replacing Warren in the bullpen is a downgrade imo

Again, I'm not a fan of essentially replacing Warren with Lynn in the bullpen
.

After 7.1 IP and 9 Ks tonight, Lynn is at

3.37 ERA
1.38 WHIP
9.1 k/9

Over his last 72.2 IP (13 starts and a relief appearance)

I’d like to give you a chance to change your stance

Nah, still not a fan of Lynn. Glad he pitched well (and deep into the game) as Yankees needed it. Still don't like the move, or Gray for that matter. Give Adams, Sheffield, and Cessa the ball
